What People Are Saying About Emeril's Restaurant

The Scene – Emeril's high-profile Atlanta restaurant is anything but understated. Over-the-top glamour oozes from every corner of the restaurant, from the richly upholstered booths to the magnificent onyx bar to the gigantic, rocket-shaped wine tower. Intricate hand-blown chandeliers cast everything in a golden glow. Expense-account types schmooze at the bar, while well-heeled yuppies peruse the vast wine list at intimate banquettes. Celeb-spotting is in full effect here: If you think there's a Braves player or big-shot politico at the next table, there probably is. Friendly servers are…
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- Request a table inside the wine tower--it's quieter, and feels like a VIP area (even though it's not).
- Know Before You Go:
- You'll probably have to wait for a few minutes for a table, despite your reservations. Not to worry: The bar is huge and gorgeous, and the bartenders are friendly.

best experiance ever

For all of you who bashed Emerils, I had a great experiance for my birthday. I think the service was great and also the food. Yes emeril is based out of new orleans but you cannot expect the restraunts to be the same everywhere even though it is a chain. I live in Gulfport mississippi now and am looking forward to trying his restraunt there when my fiance comes home from Afghanistan. Those of you who are bashing this..probably are the ones that you cannot make happy no matter what you try and do.
- Pros: great food wonderfule xperiance
- Cons: not really any cons just wished it was still open

Tried to make reservations this place is closed!! Always surprised that when restaurants close it is not reported quicker on this sight.
DO NOT TRUST THIS STAFF WITH YOUR FOOD

This is my first ever review posting. My mother and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my father's birthday. From the door, my parents and I were treated poorly. The hostess whispered into the phone for (no lie) at LEAST 15 minutes before acknowledging us. The fellow who seated us made some snide remark about the fact that I was rubbing my hands together (because they were dry, but what business is it of his?) before pointing us to our table, where we sat for a few minutes before another young fellow walks over to tell us the "specials" for the night while making eye contact with the ceiling, the other servers, and the place settings before us. None of the employees seemed to want to be there, and at $30 per plate, I expect better treatment. I paid for my father's Tom Collins, and we left the restaurant, and handed our ticket to the valet which prompted an interrogation ("why are you guys leaving?"), followed by a critique of the restaurant we we headed to next (***'Pappadeaux', where the servers are friendly, the portions are generous, and the recipes are STELLAR***). The prying valet wasted another 7 minutes of our time being a wiseguy, and by then I was DONE with Emeril's in ATL. NEVER EAT HERE. EVER. When you're down in Miami on South Beach, visit Emeril's next door the the Loews. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. I can't say the food at Emeril's in ATL is bad, because I couldn't get past the service. I expect more for my money. Pappadeaux is a different environment altogether, but we wanted friendly service, and excellent food without all the 'tude, and we got EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED AT PAPPADEAUX NOT AT EMERIL'S IN ATLANTA. Anyhow, my parents and i are going to New Orleans tomorrow, so we plan on hitting up Emerils and NOLA there. STEP IT UP IN ATL, PEEPS.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: service, parking
Not a Good Choice
by superiortastebuds
I read the mixed reviews before going to Emerils while visiting Atlanta. My wife and I had been to Emerils in Las Vegas, and had a great experience, so I expected nothing less in Atlanta. We were very dissappointed. The service was decent, but the food was nothing special. I ordered the Fried Oyster Salad to start, thinking this should be a house specialty. The oysters were over breaded and overcooked. I had shrimp and Italian sausage rigatoni for my entree. I could have gotten something similiar at a casual chain for far less money. Poor presentation. To many other restaurants to try in Atlanta to go back here.
- Pros: We love the oversized high back round booths, cozy and romantic
- Cons: They did not kick it up a notch
Food was terrible

I watch Emeril on Television all the time. When my wedding anniversary rolled around, my husband asked me where I wanted to go. Well anybody who watches Emeril knows.... I told him Emeril's of course!!!!
When I walked in I was thrilled at how lovely the restaurant was. The rolls were wonderful, and then it happened!!! They brought the appetizers and it was over. Where was the New Orleans menu? Where was the spice? where was the flavor? The food was bland, and soggy! My God! My poor husband had to return his food TWICE!!! Would I recommend this restaurant? Sure if all you want is a nice atmosphere! Don't you dare go there for the food.
- Pros: Great Service, Nice atmosphere
- Cons: Food had no real taste
