“knew something was amiss when the friendly counter clerk told me the large pie I ordered would be ready in 20 minutes; the really great Chicago pizzas require 40-45 minutes!”
“and the bartender makes the best drinks.”
“This is the only authentic Chicago Pizza in town.”
“The service was the best service we have received in any restaurant in years (even better than so-called 5 star restaurants).”

“Furthermore, the price is bad either, especially for what you get.”

I went to Nancy's in Buckhead. Ordered a Greek salad and a pizza (which is usually decent)... Started eating a salad and noticed a roach in my salad. The manager did a very nice job of handling the situation, but naturally I lost my appetite. Disappointing.
Nancy's Pizza. I went to nancy's today on ponce de leon. I asked for a pizza with ground beef and was told we only have chopped up meatballs. This is not the way we do it in chicago. Is real ground beef that hard to get these days???? I spent almost $50.00 and cant get real meat and it was very little spinach and it was cold. I am not happy with this pizza at all. I'm sure Nancy's should be able to represent Chicago style pizza better than that.
REAL CHICAGO STYLE NOT IN CHICAGO..
Lived in Chicago, had the pizza that Ragusso is so enamored with. Giodannos & Lou Malnati's are the best, don't even waste your time with UNO or Capri. If you'd look closely Nancy's is a chain that ORIGINATED IN CHICAGO and have only 2 other chains outside of IL and they are both.... you guessed it in ATLANTA, GA.
I go to Chicago for the Taste of Chicago every year, and I like taking visits there often. I'm from GA originally.
Everytime I go here the pizza is fantastic. No TWO pizzas are going to come out the same that is for sure, but this is AUTHENTIC Chicago style pizza no doubt about it. I've been in the back to watch them make a pie. All the ingredients are fresh and if you think so otherwise you should ask to see how they make these awesom pies.
Now since we ARE NOT in Chicago and the only competition for Nancy's is Nancy's they tend to overcharge... large Chicago styles tend to be 30 bucks here vs the mid 20's in Chicago, hell I've even had one for the 22 dollars.
All in all it is something you need to experience...
SEE YOU ON FRIDAY!
Pales in comparison to REAL Chicago-style.
Bless you guys for trying, but you're not anywhere within the realm of real Chicago style pizza from places like Giordannos, Uno, Pizza Capri, or other real Chicago restaurants.
It almost tastes like it was a frozen pre-prepared pizza kit that they heated up and put fresh toppings on.
Like I said in Google, if you never had chicago-style, then maybe you'd get a kick out of the novelty, but if you KNOW what the real places taste like in CHICAGO, then you will be mad at yourself for blowing the money you did, when you could have been perfectly happy going somewhere else. Plus the ambiance is really bland.
Not Chicago Style Pizza. There are some similarities but it's not the real thing. Nancy's doesn't represent it at all.
highly disappointed. after waiting well over an hour, i was excited to get some good deep dish, hoping it was going to be worth the wait. we got a small with some veggies in it. i am not exaggerating when i say there were a small handful of frozen broccoli bits (mostly stems) and a few canned mushrooms in it. the fresh tomatoes were on top and there was about one roma's worth. the crust was decent, but that was the only thing that wasn't bad and disappointing. this was such a wimpy pie - not even close to what i expect with a true chicago pizza (for $30 no less!!)
Great Pizza for true PIZZA LOVERS. Wow!!! yes the pizza takes a while to bake but is worth it a small can feed three people. What you sometimes go thru at the front counter can be expected from any pizza place... workers who wish they weren't at work selling pizza. But the taste is worth the wait and the occasional aggrevation!!!
Imitation cheese! Ridiculous prices!. As a Chicagoan, I miss my deep dish pizza. But, I found that depending on the only deep dish pizza place in Atlanta is absolutely NOT an option! I ordered a spinach deep dish pizza and I KNOW the plastic texture of imitation cheese when I taste it! There is NO WAY that what we ordered was made with real cheese! NO WAY! The final insult is the gorged price. Why is a large pizza over $20 WITHOUT toppings? Are you kidding me? I'll wait for the authentic thing when I head back to Chicago. True Chicagoans don't really eat at Nancy's when they're in Chicago anyhow; there are much better options out there. EXPLORE THEM, but avoid this place!
A full belly = a happy mouth!. Read any other review here..... This is the Best deep dish pizza in Atlanta. Period, end of story! Bring your appetitte!
How do you improve on a classic? Ask Nancy!!!. This was by far the best pizza I have ever had. The price seems a little high but you will hardly be able to cram 2 or 3 slices like with those other guys. If you just need it quick, by all means call one of the more popular chains. When you are ready to enjoy Chi Towns best... call Nancy?s.
