Great formal wear. Don't judge this store by its exterior. A Formal Occasion had absolutely beautiful and reasonably priced gowns for Prom. The lady, who helped me in and out of dresses, was a just a pleasure to be around and was not pushy nor did she seem worn out by the prom season and the hundreds of other girls that must have wandered through her store. This was the TENTH store I went to and I was finally able to find the perfect dress. The employees were caring and kind. I recommended this store to all of my friends.

A Dream Come True!. I found A Formal Occasion through the Casablanca Bridal website. I went in there looking for a specific Casablanca gown, which they had, but was amazed by their selection! I had been all over Atlanta looking for gowns, and this one small store had more dresses that I loved than some of the bigger stores I had been to!

Another great thing about A Formal Occasion is that they have their dresses in small and large sample sizes! 6s and 16s! I was able to try on all of my choices and found the perfect dress! I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I can't wait until the dress comes in January!

Highly recommend them!. I stopped in to do a quick look through for a veil and hair comb, expecting not to have luck after looking at lots of other places. I was pleasantly surprised that I walked out with both within 30 minutes of getting there. They have lots of wedding accessories, garters, guest books, and of course dresses, veils, tiaras, hair combs and more. The customer service was great. The girl helped me with veil ideas and showed me how to make the veil and comb work whether I wore my hair up or down. Great store, great selection, and great prices too. I highly recommend them!

Great Customer Service, Unique Selection, reasonable prices. When I got engaged, I was very excited about going to get my dress. I had no idea about what dress shopping would be like, or how complicated it was to get a dress, alterations, etc. for a reasonable price. The first shop I went to was Bridal by Lori--essentially the Rodeo Drive of wedding boutiques--where I came out discouraged and, frankly, insulted by their sales staff. I then went to David's Bridal where I was equally discouraged because all the dresses looked the same and none of them were anything like what I wanted. Needless to say, I saw both extremes of wedding boutiques and while it helped me get some perspective, I was totally disillusioned and discouraged...until I walked into A Formal Occasion. It isn't as glamorous as Bridal by Lori, and isn't as overwhelming as David's Bridal. It is a charming and tasteful little shop with a surprisingly large selection of dresses. The sales clerk was very attentive, enthusiastic and really helped me find the perfect dress. She encouraged me to try on different styles (even some I was convinced I wouldn't like). Sure enough I found the perfect dress, and it was one of the styles I didn't think I would like. Long story short, AFO has a great selection, reasonable prices, amazing service and made dress shopping a fun experience (like it should be).

Right price - right item. I found this place after I purchased my dress elsewhere and was having my alterations done by an adjecent business (Sew Elegant). I was looking for a veil and accessories. They let me bring my dress in and try it on and try on veils - other place will NOT let you do this. I found just the right veil and a lot less than other places. I also took a look at their wedding gowns and was sad I had made my decision so quickly at another place (david's-yuk!) I was only looking for a veil but the customer service I received was amazing. The owner spent time with me even while she helped others. I was very impressed. You need to go here first if you are looking for a wedding dress and accessories!
