CLIFTONsucks. CLIFTON: By far the worst server ever!!!!! My 4 friends and I came to dine here since it was walks away from the Britney Spears concert that night. First of all, they were clearly understaffed and should have known better that there was a huge event going on at the Philips Arena. One of my friends had gotten there @ 5pm and the host never informed her that there was going to be a wait-list and she was never put on there. So when she found out, she was put at the bottom of the list of about 10 other parties above her. That truly showed poor customer service! We did not get a table until 6:10pm. Now, all of us are currently servers or servers at one point, so we understand the industry very well. We understand it took 5-10 minutes for our server, CLIFTON, to come greet us. It was busy. I noticed CLIFTON had a 5 table section, he was flustered, and obviously couldn't handle the weight and how busy the crowd was. That was the restaurants fault for clearly under-staffing for a huge event. When CLIFTON came to greet the table you can tell he was flustered, but that was totally understandable, so to be helpful, we gave him our entire order at 6:20pm: 4 Don Juan Margaritas, 2 Patron shots, Queso w/jalapenos, Guacamole, and 3 Chicken Tacos. We wanted to get something simple and fast because we had to be at the concert @ 7pm. We got sat the same exact time as a table for 4 girls beside us and saw CLIFTON greeted them and took their entire order then straight to us and took our entire order next. All of their drinks and food came out 10 minutes later and they all had meals. We were still waiting on ours and we had 2 simple dips and 3 tacos. So CLIFTON brought us waters. Good job. There was another table with 2 gentlemen that sat down next to us 10 minutes after we did and they apparently got the same thing we did and got there food 1st before we did!!!!! We didn't get our food til 6:45pm, but we still didn't have any drinks. I've worked in a Mexican restaurant before and I don't understand how it takes so long to pour queso that's pre-made into a bowl and make fresh guacamole in less than 5 minutes?! It's dip!!!!! So when we got our food, we had no silverware and there was no CLIFTON to be found, so we had to ask the host to bring us some. When we had our food, there was a total of 10 chips to dip in both the massive queso and guacamole dips (which the queso had a total of 5 jalapenos in it for a $1.00. $0.20 per jalapeno slice. Rip off!). CLIFTON came by and said he would bring some more chips. Never did! So it looked like 2 huge dips that never been touched. Then the table of 4 girls next to us ordered another round of drinks and they got theirs 5-10 minutes later!!!!! Where's ours?! So one friend and I got up and decided to get drinks at the bar. We ordered a Pitcher of Margarita and 5 shots of tequila. The drinks were made in less than 5 minutes. CLIFTON saw my friend and I were getting drinks and looked upset and made a snarky comment to himself and then disappeared. Do you have a problem with us spending money?! I approached a female manager and said, "I'm unable to find our server, but can we cancel our drink order because we've been waiting on drinks for over a half an hour while all the tables around us seem to be get their 1st and 2nd rounds of drinks and food and we just got drinks at the bar in less than 5 minutes." Instead of just saying yes, she was questioning me! After all of that, she said, "It looks like your drinks just got there." I said, "Yes, but it took over a half an hour. Are we suppose to get intoxicated off of a massive amount of margaritas and tequila shots before a concert and drive home drunk?" So then she just walks away. How irresponsible of her to make that comment! Does she not know that her job and the company is lying in their hands and the server could get fined $500 and the store $1000, and the server and manager on duty could both go to jail and lose their jobs if anything were to happen to us?!
Worst Mexican Food I've ever had. This is by far the worst Mexican food I have had in my life. I am not exaggerating one bit. The food was so bland, had no flavor at all. I make better tasting food with more flavor at home with el paso and taco bell kits.
Worst Ever!!. The absolute worst dining experience ever. I really wish I had seen this before this past Saturday, May 17, 2008. We thought we would go here and grab a bit to eat before going to a concert at Philips Arena and that was the biggest dining mistake I have ever made. I should have just gone to Checkers, Burger King or McDonalds. We got there and got seated with no problem, but after being seated it was 15 minutes before anyone even came and asked what we wanted to drink. It seems that there are not enough people working at this restaurant because when the waiter brought our drinks we were actually ready to order, but he dropped the drinks off and then ran off before we could say anything. The waiter finally came back about 10 minutes later saying that he had tables in the front of the restaurant and our table toward the back of the restaurant. Well he finally took our order and the food actually came out pretty fast. However, it was tasteless. I don't understand how you can mess up chicken quesadilla. The chicken wasn't seasoned and the flour tortilla felt like it was a week old and tasted stale. We then found what looked like cilantro in the bottom of our picture of margarita so we asked the waiter if we could have another drink. Now get this we asked for a Long Island Iced Tea and the waited flat out told us that the bar tender couldn't make it because he was too busy. At this point we asked to speak to a Manager. The manager came over and tried to tell us she had not had any complaints all evening and she couldn't understand what the problem was. After going back and forth with her she told us she would be back and the next thing you know the waiter is bringing our check. Now the check was discounted by 50%, but I don't even think that they deserved that much. However we went ahead and paid the check and left. There were two other tables sitting near us that just got up and left without paying, but I just couldn't do that.
will never eat there again!. My friend and I went to the restaurant before a concert ( my birthday gift) to start a fun evening. We decided on mexican so we could have some food and a pitcher of good margaritas. We ordered the beef nachos and a pitcher of texas margarita. I would just like to say that I have been to several mexican restaurants with friends, had pitchers, good food and fun. My friend is from California so she is used to mexican food and decent tex mex. We notice on the menu there are no prices for pitchers, but figure what the heck . The reason you get a pitcher is the same reason you get a bottle... get more booze for the bucks. We get our nachos that make taco bell look like Ruth Chris and our pitcher. We pick around the already cold cheese to get to the sparse beef but we are drinking so we're fine. We get the check and notice our pitcher was $40!!!!!!!! The by the glass price was no more that $8.50 for 12 oz glass. We did not ask for patron or any top shelf tequila, we asked for premium (anything but Pepe Lopez). We asked the waiter to make sure that was the correct price and he said it was. We asked the hostess to speak to the manager. A man with an apron on as if he was the one responsible for the taco disaster came out with another waiter because HE DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH well. We asked him why the pitcher was so expensive and if that was going to be the case why was the price not listed. He told us that we should have asked the price before we bought it. (That was translated back to us) He offered no apologies, no reduction in price... just that statement. Both myself and my friend are in the restaurant business. The rule is if you havve to ask, you can't afford it. We wanted some type of recognition of the problem, a suggestion, SOMETHING! I asked for the executive office information and the "manager" came back with a number on a napkin... not a card. Basically, it was a horrible start to a supposed to be fun night of birthday celebration.
Worst Experience Ever. My biggest pet peeve is getting pour service in a restaurant because I am a teenager. My parents raised me on tipping well for good service & I usually leave a 30-50+% tip. Eating at Don Juan was the worst experience I have ever had. My three friends & I went there one night before an event at the Georgia Dome to avoid high GaDome prices. We waited in line for about 30 minutes to be seated, which was for no reason other than they were understaffed (even though I spotted at least five employees standing around talking when I walked in) because there were many open tables. We then sat at the table for 20 minutes before being approached. Once our waitress came up to the table, she did not say hello, introduce herself, or ask us how our day was going. She said, "What do you want to drink?" & then walked off. 30 minutes later we ordered our food & other 20 minutes later it came out. Our sodas were NEVER refilled, even after flagging down the waitress & asking for a new drink. Two of my friends got the wrong food, & my nachos were bone cold. I sent mine back, requesting a new order, they returned five minutes later after being nuked but still cold. We then waited & had to flag down the waitress again to get our check. After asking to speak to her manager, she argued with us for a few minutes saying, "She's really busy & I don't want to bother her." Once I finally was able to speak to a manager, the manager made excuses about the poor service & quality of food that probably would not meet health inspection standards (below a certain temperature, cheese begins to grow bacteria at an alarmingly fast rate). I have never in my life asked to speak to a manager or stiffed a waitress. I was horrified at the service & food that I received & the nonchalance of the manager. She did not even apologize for our poor experience or offer compensation. The restaurant was moderately busy, but nothing to excuse the poor service.
Bad customer relations and awful service..

I had chicken soup and salad. The soup was too salty and the service was awful.
The waitress gave the impression that she did not want to be bothered with us.
After lunch we asked for separate checks, but was told that they don't do that. I was paying with cash and my friend wanted to use a charge card. She stated that since I was paying with cash that I could pay the whole bill and get the balance of my money from my friend. I asked if there was a manager on-site, and she stated that she was the manager. She was unwilling and did not work with us on this. This is not good practice for any business.
