Get some AC! Get some Organizational!
My friend booked me a party here on a Sunday and was told when she arrived (Sunday) they don't book parties on Sunday so they weren't prepared or setup. She was told by one staff member that the food was inclusive. They setup the table and the food never arrived...after the band finished, I inquired about food and was told there was never food order, we didn't pay for food...well, that was the point in her asking when she arrived early. Miscommunication! You have a party with about 30 patrons buying at least 2 drinks each who can AFFORD to buy food...but that wasn't explained in the beginning so you loose out on money and have irritated guests...but it didn't seem to bother them.
The temperature for that day reached 106 and this club had NO A/C! Seriously invest the money that you earn on keeping your patrons comfortable!
New Years Eve.
Grown Folks Cafe
A friend and I from Washington D.C. went to Grown Folks Cafe, New Years Eve 2012. We had a ball, when we arrived at the front entrance. The lady and a gentleman that worked there greeted us. They were very hospitable. I was already impressed. Once we got inside, I noticed the people were very friendly. The ladies and gents were very conversational and dressed to impress. Hats off for the D.J. He was off the hook. If I had to rate his performance 1-10, 10 being the best, he was a strong 10 and never missing a beat. Unfortunately, the food was heavy on the salt. Otherwise, the food was okay. The New Year toast made me a little sentimental, when I looked around and saw all those beautiful African American people getting along and enjoying themselves. I was happy to have spent New Year Eve at Grown Folks Cafe, a down to earth, fun place. I travel to Atlanta from D.C. at least once 3 to 4 times a year. I look forward to coming back to HOT- LANTA. I'll be in touch (smile)
Shey (from D.C)
Grown Folks Cafe. The staff at Grown Folks Cafe as well as the management needs a class on Customer Service! in this tight economy where customer service could make or break an establishment. Althought I tried unsuccessfully to reach someone there 5 days in advance to let them know that I needed reservations for a small group of friends, celebrating a friends b-day. No one called me back, so when we showed up $$$ in hand on a what appeared to be a slow night (they had an empty section that was unreserved and empty) we were treated like we had foreign currency and I know for a fact that we spent almost a Grand between all of us with tips and all. So when we arrived and asked where we could sit? they pointed us to an empty section which was good for us . We ordered first round at least $150 worth of food and drinks. The whole time the unprofessional bar staff treat us like we were baggers and like we were asking for something for free. Whenever we made any kind of polite request for service, they failed to provide it and when we asked to speak with management, we were told that management refuse to talk to us, like we were not important customers and that we were looking for something for free. My suggestion is- if you need to make it happen at the last minute, like most of us do - DONT GO TO GROWN FOLKS CAFE!!. per the management over the DJ's PA system "YOU WILL NOT BE SERVED NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE !, In this tight economy where other estabilishments will jump thru hoops for your business, Grown Folks acted like they didnt need/want our business!. We were a group of working professionals, and I am a registered consumer advocate which made no difference to Grown Folks staff or their management. I will tell anyone that will listen, DONT GO TO GROWN FOLKS CAFE IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND MORE THAT $2.00 WHICH IS THE KIND OF SERVICE YOU WILL GET IF YOU ARE A PARTY OF 2 OR MORE.. Shame on you Grown Folks Cafe.
I HAD A VERY GOOD TIME THERE. THE DRINKS WAS WELL PRICE ,,NOT LIKE LUCKIE LOUNGE WHERE THIER DRINK ARE TO HIGH $13.00 FOR A SHOT OF HENNESY, VS $6.00 AT GROWN FOLKS CAFE,, IF YOU ARE OVER 40 AND LIKE BEGIN AROUND GROWN FOLKS ,,,,,COME HERE TO GROWN FOLKS.. AND LOTS OF PRETTY WOMEN THIER ;-)
Awesome!!!. I have been in the suburbs of atlanta for almost 5 years now, recently moved to the city and went to some clubs here that were ok! But...OMG this club is truly for grown folks! The crowd is mature and fun! I have been 3 times in the past 2weeks and every time has been on a saturday so it really is a nice place to club on a saturday..I don't no how the crowd on other days. It has about two other clubs surrounding it...BUT GROWN FOLKS has got them beat especially that sorry excuse for a club called crows nest! Conclusion: A beautiful 29 year old woman has had a Terrific time at this grown and sexy place...a must come type of scenery!
Great Friendly And Big Fun. I had a great time on my birthday. The host on the floor was awesome, great dancer and gave many shout outs to me on my birthday. There were people doing a complicated dance that was totally beautiful. Good Clean fun. There was a very capable photographer with discounts. I would definitely go back. I felt safe. The drinks were nice and strong, not watered down. I didnt see any food but I was too busy dancing. I popped my fingers so much that I got a blister. There was no band, it was a wednesday but very good dancing music for mature people but not stale.
Grown Folks is what's up!!!!. My husband and I enjoyed the night life on Sunday, Sept 6th-2009. The club was packed, but very contained. I didn't have to listen to the music my teenage daughter listens too. Everyone was dressed to impress. The band was AWESOME and the DJ kept you dancing all night long. If you're looking for a nice spot, then check out GROWN FOLKS. Inexpensive cover charge of $5 and the drinks were reasonable. I recommend this spot to anyone wanting to enjoy a night out with a mature crowd.
Off the Chain baby!!.
Me and a couple of girlfriends "mistakingly" ended up at Grown Folks Cafe over the weekend. We were originally suppose to be at a party at another hot spot thats across and down the street.
Well, let me tell you, this was a great night of fun. The club is very nice, and I like it because it is 30 and up and it has a great "class" of people...not your hip hoppers (sorry, nothing against hip hoppers, I'm just not one) however... the atmosphere is really nice, all the people with whom we came in contact were very friendly..everyone was there for a good time and that is exactly what we had..all were dressed to impress!
Grown Folks.... I Must Say Grown Folks Have My Vote This Is A Hottt Spot For The Grown Folks... I Am Glad I Found A Place This Weekend That Past... That Knows How 2 Have A Good Time... The Music Was Off The Chain, People Was Friendly, & The Men Dresses... Robert If U'r Out There Thanks 4 The Dance I'm The Woman From Connecticut That Dropped Like It Was Hot On U Friday...LOL... U Lucky I Had A Dress On... & Mules ... Saturday Was On The Money ... DJ's Wonderful.. The Only Thing I Didn't Like Was ... Smoking Is Allowed... Other Then That I Will Be Back At The Grown Folks Cafe When I'm Back In Town... Something 4 The Grown Folks...
The best spot on the south side for the Grown and Beautiful. If your are looking for a spot on the southside (south Fulton County) that caters to the mature over 30 crowd Grown Folks is it! I am a regular there and its my "Cheers" for sure. Everyone knows my face. The reason this is is I love to dance and the music is bumping at this joint. Just right for the grown and loving it. Grown folks is hot!. Where else can you go in the hood where the drinks are not watered down, moderately priced...the food is EXCELLENT, ,moderately priced and served on real china with cloth napkins and have the best good time you ever had? ...They serve you with class....You can have a private party...and a private chat in the corner with a honey on white leather sofas all in the same place for a 10 dollar cover. They have a hype man who is hilarious....there is plenty of parking...in a safe well lit part of Old National Highway. The only down side is the club is small and intimate so you have to get there early to get a good seat.
