“Lots of flowers and a good view of the neighborhood.”
“good place for a casual dinner-large pizza portion, great-tasting pasta & don't miss their weekday beer specials.”
“This is a great place to go and hang, but don't come here thinking you are going to get a memorable meal.”
“I'm not kidding when I say I'd recommend every dish on the menu.”
“It's a great place to stop by for an impromptu meal, never disappoints.”
“We Americans usually expect and demand fast service.”
“They have the most delicious gorgonzola sauce I've ever tasted, and their house wines, both red and white, are fabulous and SO cheap at 5.50 each.”
“As a long time proponent of Figo for cheap, good Italian, I can easily say Osteria is now the place I visit for my default Italian fix.”
love this place!. i stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago and loved it! nice pour on the vodka and the flat bread was fantastic. nice and thin and right out of the open oven. i was a bit skeptical because it had a few too many kids, but, i sat at the bar and wasn't bothered at all. great outdoor patio that over looks n.highland. will make this a past of my dining roatation - prices were very reasonable as well
Highland Pizzeria with a Killer Patio. Thin crusted, slightly charred pizzas (try the prosciutto e rucola with balsamic reduction) are served up along side pasta dishes like the rigatoni rustica with sausage and peppers or the delicious bowl of mussels with a white wine sauce (bianca). During warm weather months, the patio which sits under white strands of light bulbs and along side N. Highland is definitely the coveted seating area. Friendly servers are quick to recognize regulars and are surprisingly patient with the kiddos running around. A fairly decent wine and beer list certainly helps one tolerate the hubbub.
great thin pizza. if you like thin crust pizza this is one of the best places in town for that style
horrible service for the 3rd time. never going back.
girlfriends and i had brunch on the patio. when we asked to be seated in the shade they put us at a table half covered with shade. we asked if we could move again, the waiter just shrudged his shoulders. a few minutes later an umbrella was brought to another table. we asked if we could have one. we were told no, they were out. then we asked if we could move into the shade at another table, we were told no. then we asked if we could move our table to the shade. again, no. my cocktail was hot and i sweated thru my meal. i didn't enjoy one bit. by the time we left, my back was burned and the girl next to me had a wet napkin on her neck to cool off and to keep her neck from getting sun burned. her arms were burned.
on an ealier occerance, i was having brunch with friends and it took just shy of 3 hours for them to turn our table. when our food came out we had to get up, go inside to find our waiter and ask for silverware. they never refilled waters or came to check on us. it was dead of the summer and our finished plates sat in front of us for 30 minutes with flies everywhere. again, we finally got up and found our server (sitting inside) and asked him to clear our plates and bring the check. plates got cleared. still no check. still no check, again, we had to ask for it.
I've worked in food and bev for 13 years and have not ever seen such poor judgment on the staff's abililty to serve customers and i've never seen such poor judgment in the management that hires this kind of staff.
Found a Gem!. My family and I went to Osteria for the first time as a birthday / engagement celebration. I wanted to go somewhere that was reasonably priced (and that had good reviews). Osteria was the perfect spot. The food was awesome. I highly recommend the Boscaiola and Bolognese pastas. The spinach salad was delicious and HUGE - enough for 5 of us to share! We will definitely be going back.
Casual quality.. Good italian food with a casual atmosphere. I recommend sitting on the patio for a relaxing evening in the highlands drinking a glass of wine. Decent wine selection, as well. Good service and location. Good pasta and tomato and mozzarella salad.
Best Pasta!. This place was all stars for me, the food is so good you want to keep ordering whatever they have. Great for everyone!. Also the service is stellar and the ambiance very relaxing.
Great prices, great food and free parking!.
I went to Osteria for the first time last weekend. Since moving to Atlanta in February, I'd been looking for a good, reasonably priced Italian restaurant. Osteria is IT!!!!!!!! The food is great, servers are very nice, and the prices cannot be beat.
I recommend sitting on the patio out front...the atmosphere is really nice. Lots of flowers and a good view of the neighborhood. It's one of the few outdoor patios that allow smoking---a plus for those of us who haven't quit yet!
my new "Go-To" pizza and pasta place!. I've been here quite a few times, and I am addicted! Their pizza and pasta are all so delicious. As tempting as it is to always get the same thing each time, my boyfriend and I are determined to try EVERYTHING on the menu! I'm not kidding when I say I'd recommend every dish on the menu. My favorite pasta dishes are the Boscaiola, if you are craving a richer pasta dish, the Melanzane if you love veggies, and you can never go wrong with their spaghetti and meatballs. The pizzas are to die for, too, especially the Salsiccia or any other pizzas with prosciutto. They also have an impressive wine list and beer selection. Service is always fantastic, and the prices are appropriate for the food. MUST TRY!!
Best Affordable Italian Grub. I moved to the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta two years ago, and Osteria 832 has been a weekly staple for me. They're always winning "Best of Atlanta" awards in multiple publications for "best cheap eats", "kid-friendly", and "best Italian", and this true neighborhood joint has never let me down. They specialize in AFFORDABLE rustic Italian fare (pizza, pasta, antipasta, etc.) and weekend brunch. I prefer sitting on their pleasant patio. You can eat for well under 10 bucks.
