Tips for Mccormick & Schmick's Seafood Atlanta (cnn Center)

Clubby corporate restaurant draws seafood lovers with fresh daily catches and posh atmosphere.. In Short
Upscale and sophisticated, this chain features art deco-inspired trappings such as dark wood, shiny brass and beveled glass. Servers clad in black and white weave through cocktailing couples and businessmen at the bar. The classic American, seasonally inspired seafood menu changes daily; specialties include starters of Dungeness crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, plus entrees like cedar plank-roasted salmon, sauteed lobster with scallops and rock shrimp, and seared yellowfin tuna with wasabi, soy and ginger.

Great service, Lousy seating.. My Husband and I had made reservations for Valentines day. The atmosphere was nice I must admit though I was taken aback my the attire of a few of the guest. Business casual does not mean baseball caps and sweat suits, but I could be wrong :). The food was delicious, our waiter was exceptional. He new the menu well and was very attentive to us on such a hectic day. I would recommend this restaurant especially if you love seafood as I do. I do have one complaint though. The hostess tried to seat us in the patio area which was not set up for service and to me seem like an after thought. The tables were awkwardly placed and they gave us some form of a lawn chair to sit it, we had to asked to be moved to another table. I don't feel as if someone who has made a reservation should be placed in the overflow seating when someone that has walked in off the street can get a real chair. Overall our experience turn out rather well. We were moved to another table and all was well.

Fresh Fish and New Menus Printed Twice a Day. It was interesting to hear that they print their menus twice a day based on their fresh fish delivery 2-times a day. All I can say it that the meal and appetizers were excellent as was the service. A very busy restaurant in an unusualy location. We like sitting by the windows so we can see the street, but they also have some really nice booths and private areas for larger parties. We will definitely go back. Call for a reservation to be on the safe side, otherwise be ready for a long wait.

Delicious food cancels mediocre service. My boyfriend & I had the Maryland crab cake and mussels as appetizers. They were both delicious. The crab cake was the best I've ever had. It's texture and combination of flavors was wonderful. My boyfriend had the Tombo Tuna. It was coated in wasabi and masago prior to cooking. It was fantastic. The freshness of the seafood was obvious in every bite. I had the Seafood Bruschette in mango sauce. It's flavor was more subtle and mild but still delicious. For dessert, we had the torte sundae. Aside from a lack of service to keep our water glasses full and plates cleared, the experience was definitely one I plan to repeat. Call for reservations, otherwise you will have to wait about 1.5 hrs on a busy night.
