A bright spot on a bad road for food
by Sacul at Citysearch
I've work for a while on windward road so i know it's a cavalcade of boring bars and food holes. But I stopped into Ichiban on a friends recommendation. Glad I did.
I love japanese steak houses and am very familiar with how they work. You come in, sit down order, then wait for a chef to come prepare the food. I don't know if it was perfect timing or just how every visit goes but, I walked in got seated ordered a drink ordered dinner and boom the chef showed up like he was just waiting on us to order. Japanese steak houses make ordering pretty simple...Steak. You either get it with chicken or shrimp. So thats the easiest part of the whole thing. Our chef was entertaining, fast and accurate. Everything was cooked to the right temperatures and the right veggies on every plate. The waitress would pop up out of nowhere and brought me with a fresh drink without me asking. pretty much a perfect night out with a date. I will be back!!!
As for the bad. They close at 10 so this isn't a late dinner spot like I like to do sometimes. So don't be a night owl like me and go early. you won't regret it.
- Pros: Fast service, fast drinks, nice interior
- Cons: they close a little too early
Worst service from Sushi Chefs
by poppavein at Citysearch
Usually sitting at a sushi bar is a fun time to spend.
The chefs *might* have said hello, but after finishing a bowl of miso soup, a salad and a carafe of sake, they hadn't acknowledged my presence nor taken my order.
I was a bartender for 5 years and always tip well, but this was pathetic service and resulted in *no* tip.
What a waste of time. Try another place.
Best sushi in Atlanta
by merit2718 at Citysearch
I was expecting to walk into another kitschy suburban Japanese restaurant, but the decor of this place is so up to date and makes it a great date place. Their sake menu is fairly extensive and the sushi is the best I have had in Atlanta. Hibachi grill is also good. Service has always been good as well.
- Pros: Great sushi, great hibachi, elegant decor
