Overpriced. If you don't get the stuffed lambchop, you might as well not eat here. The service was slow, the meat undercooked, and the atmosphere wasn't worth the price.
Disappointed with food. I feel like this place was probably great a few years ago, but the quality has declined. I looked up this place here, read the good review, but was VERY disappointed with the food. Pasta was overcooked/mushy, the cheese was bad quality (tasteless mozzarella), "greens" in the salad was old iceberg lettuce. Their menu and food need work.
Mod cafe serves up spiffy Italian treats for Midtown movers and groovers..
The Scene
Utterly transformed from its days as swanky Spanish bar Andaluz, Little Azio (big brother Azio is located downtown) sports a streamlined look, with stark white walls and a sharp marble counter where customers place orders. Service, which consists chiefly of delivery of food to your table or booth, is as speedy as it is friendly.
The Food
Atlanta's wild child chef Paul Luna was called in to tweak the menu after a weak start, to good effect. The pizza, pasta and panini menu is full of tasty, cheap options most appropriate for lunch crowds and quick dinners. Pizza crust--thin and crispy--works best with toppings like grilled shrimp with four cheeses, and barbecue chicken. Pastas are simple but nicely crafted--the turkey meat ragu is a heart-healthy and deeply flavorful take on the classic Italian meat sauce. Unctuous, well-grilled panini are gushy in all the right ways. Try the calamari with peppers if you want to nosh before your main course.
Good cheat eats!. It's SO nice to see an affordable restaurant in Midtown! If you like pasta and pizza and don't need an extravagant experience - this place is for you. One of the best values in Midtown hands down! And even though it's an order at the counter kind of place - the service is good. Perfect for those who don't have the time (or inclination) to cook at home - and end up eating out often.
