What People Are Saying About Ecotage Salon

The Scene – Tucked into the first floor of Rich's-Macy's at Lenox Square, Ecotage serves as a peaceful respite from the mall's often frenetic environment. Contemporary furniture and a neutral blue/brown color scheme rest tired eyes, while a water wall adds a natural touch. Set apart from the nail and hair salon, the spa--with its own waiting lounge, locker room and changing area--is even more secluded. – – The Services – Sure, it's owned by a department store chain, but there's nothing cold or corporate here. Windowless treatment rooms are soundproof; technicians are…

DON'T GO THERE
by shopaholictoo at Citysearch
I would give negative stars if I could.
I told my, Ashan stylist not to add a certain color in my hair and she put it in anyway AS I WAS TELLING HER NOT TO. I had to tell another stylist, he got her to wash it out of my head. Ashan also got dye on my hand and neck. I asked her three times to get a towel (within a 20 minute period because she left me although she had no other clients for the day). I had to wait until the front desk person came in the back so he could get the dye off of me.
I have dry hair and asked her to use a moisture rich shampoo- last time I was there she had used the clarifying shampoo leaving my African American WAY dry & brittle. She refused saying "they're all redken products they're all good." She didn't even keep a towel on my hair, but placed my dripping hair right onto my back SOAKING MY SHIRT.
She dyed my hair the wrong color and refused to fix it although they did not close for another 2hrs. Instead, the front desk person had told them that they had no other clients on the books for the day and, if they wanted to, they could leave early. They closed two hours early, yet she refused to fix my hair.
Then they asked my to pay 50 dollars and they knew I was upset YET THEY ASKED FOR A TIP.
do NOT consider this salon for your wedding
by lilpat at Citysearch
If you are looking for a salon to do hair and make-up for your wedding, don't even consider Ecotage Salon.
The stylist I did my trial with never showed up (even though she intermittently called me on my cell phone for a period of one hour saying she was 'just one light away' or would be there in 5 mins), the salon didn't have hair pins or hair ties (I'm not making that up) and half of my bridesmaids' hair fell down in the car ride home.
Also, when I called the manager that morning to tell her about the above, I was yelled at for being unreasonable and told I had never informed her that I needed to leave at a certain time (which I promise, I had done repeatedly). My sister left a voice mail for the manager when we left to tell her that we would need to meet with her on Monday to discuss how the morning had gone (namely, no hair pins/ hair ties, no power for the first 15 mins, the stylists we had booked and done a trial with never showed up), but emphasized that we wanted to put the experience behind us for the rest of the weekend and focus on the wedding.
I received a very rude voice mail from the manager on my cell phone an hour later, once again, saying I was being unreasonable--even if the stylist I had my trial with didn't come, someone had ended doing my hair, so what was the issue? My mom returned the call and left another message with the manager saying there may be some aspects of the morning she had not been made aware of and that they would like to meet with her on Monday. Once again, she reiterated that we would like to put the experience behind us for the rest of the day and focus on the wedding.
Flash forward one hour: I am driving to the church with my parents and receive a call from the manager--once again, defending the salon and arguing with me that I had never discussed needing to leave at a certain time (which I promise, I had. This conversation was in the presence of several members of my bridal party who assured me that this was made clear).
I told her I was on the way to the church and did not want to have this conversation at this time. She continued to yell and I hung up.
It ended up being a beautiful day--one of the happiest of my life--but I would be lying if I said the whole experience didn't frazzle my family and me and wasn't a nightmarish way to start my wedding day.
The stylist who did end up doing my hair apologized throughout the morning for how the situation was handled and told me they couldn't believe how calm I was (I think at the time, I was too stressed out to do anything but sit there numbly and hand them hair pins from my purse). Macy's Regional also apologized when we did follow-up on Monday and refunded me in full.
Nevertheless, I wanted to write this review to prevent some poor out-of-town bride from making the same mistake.
Nice Experience

I was in town visiting and I saw this salon inside Macy's and decided to get a mani and pedi. The staff at the fron desk was very nice in booking my service. The Nail Tech introduced her self to me and my journey began, she even had me to fill out a card about the history if my nails( I have never done that before) My pedicure was excellent and it put me to sleep. I really like that I was in a room by myself with soft music and candles. She even sent me home with a product to help my dry brittle nails and she gave me great tips to keep up at home. THANKS Deneca for a good experience.
Worst Salon in Atlanta

This salon should be shut down by the State of Ga. There are unsanitary conditions in this salon, I am surprised they have not been sued yet.
The staff is very unprofessional and not skilled at what they do!!!!!!!!
All I can say is RUN, RUN away as fast as you can from Premier Salon inside Macys Lenox
