The best breakfast in Atlanta. They're menu changes, but the food is always exceptional. If it's available, I recommend the Chocolate Bourbon Milkshake especially if it's your birthday. Treat yourself.
Fun cafe serving breakfast lunch & dinner, with breakfast served all day. Coffee roasted around the corner at Batdorf & Bronson & boozy milkshakes are popular. Definitely get there early on the weekends for brunch!
Probably the most healthy and clean new breakfast spot in the city; the french toast and Georgian Benedict are my favorites.
Three words: Coca Cola Cupcake! I love ending my breakfast/lunch meals here with their delicious twist on a Southern drink. My favorite entree here is their salmon cakes benedict-heavenly!
Rude Server – I came in for lunch today and to pick up my dozen assorted cupcakes. My lunch went very well and the food was delicious; however, the service at the counter to pick up my cupcake order was HORRIBLE!
I was standing near the counter where I saw my name on an empty box. A young girl with a brown West Egg hoodie came by, asked if I needed help. I said I was here to pick up my ordered (I pointed to the box). She said "You can pick it up", when I didn?t immediately do so she repeated herself 3 times, each time speaking slower and clearer as if I didn?t speak English or I was retarded. When she grabbed the box and opened it and saw that it was empty all she said was "OH". I then asked her how she felt after trying to make me feel like an idiot. Her smug response was "I feel fine". No sorry nothing.
She packed up my order, charged me my $25 gave me my change and said nothing more.
I?ve e-mail Jennifer the owner twice with no response what so ever. The disappointing cupcakes matched the disappointing service.
Hands Down Best Cupcakes in ATL – The Coca Cola cupcakes are yum! I've ordered these for parties and get-togethers and they are always a crowd pleaser!
Best grits, great biscuits, oatmeal and OJ, and cupcakes too! – West Egg has been a welcome addition to West Midtown. The food quality and value is great. Serving breakfast and lunch to a hip, local, artsy crowd with kids. Customers are diverse and have discovered West Egg is a small haven for patrons with kids. It wasn't always this way, but has become more so as of lately. Therefore, as I prefer a quieter, more adult atmosphere I no longer frequent West Egg but do adore their grits and appreciate their selection. The basics of omelettes, biscuits, benedicts, etc. along with pork, turkey or soy options, with specials which usually include a Mexican inspired breakfast burrito, to caesar and teriyaki salads and unqiue sandwiches makes this eatery a happy medium for all. Making the experience all that cheery is their homemade cookies and cupcakes! Service is good, food is great and prices are fair. The nearby construction of the White Provisions complex makes parking difficult. Off street parking available around the corner on Brady.
Great biscuits! Very pleasant early morning experience – I'm typically terrible at getting up at a reasonable hour in the morning, but this morning I managed to be up on my feet by 6:30am. That's cause for celebration! I went looking for somewhere to eat. I was heading to Waffle House, but I noticed West Egg and decided to give it a shot. I was very pleased.
Getting there at 7:10am, there were maybe two other customers there. The waitress was very friendly and pleasant, and the food came out very quickly.
Pancakes - Very good, bordering on excellent. Big (but not too big), fluffy, soft, and yummy. I forgot to try the spicy butter, but I've heard others rave about it.
Biscuit - to DIE for! This was a truly excellent biscuit, in my opinion. Great taste, lightly chewy, and fluffy. I ordered mine with bacon and cheese (in a complete momentary lapse of reason I forgot to get egg on it as well).
I can't wait to bring friends here and to brag about my discovery. Give this place a try, folks.
Best Breakfast/Brunch On The Westside! Yummy Fried Green Tomato Wrap! – So many great choices in the ATL for Sunday Brunch. West Egg has now joined the ranks of Java Jive, Crescent Moon and Ria's Bluebird. And the prices are just amazing compared to other Brunch options. Hands down, for me, it's the Fried Green Tomato Wrap-Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Horseradish Dill Cream and Cheese. This is pure new age Southern Breakfast nirvina. The gourmet coffees are terrific. My brunch companions love the Buttermilk Pancakes w/Spicy Honey Butter. And that Piemento Cheese and Bacon Omelette. Again, the prices are right on!
Best cupcakes – Love the red velvet cupcakes and sandwiches. It's a great place to go for a cup of coffee and a snack.
One of the best brunch place in Atlanta – First of all, very pleasant service is guaranteed at West Egg. Second, a great place for breakfast food served with a unique twist. I'm a big fan of the Green Tomato Breakfast wrap and the pancakes with honey butter. In an unusual location on the West side of the city but well worth the ride for its food, service and price.
Great Breakfast Place..... Good food, atmosphere, and value. The only thing that I don't care for here is the grits. I am from the south, and grits should taste like grits. The grits here are spicy.
Come for the breakfast...leave over 2 hours later cause of the service – I understand breakfast places are busy on the weekend so I can accept a 30 minute wait on a Sun. @ 12 and actually expect one...but to leave 2 hours after you sat down because of almost comically poor service is a little much. I'm an easy to please person and I know West Egg isn't the Ritz dining room, but as you'll see, some things should be standard for any dining experience. So our party of 4 sits down @ 12:30. Our 'waitress' asks for our drink orders and we say we would like to go ahead and order as well. She seems to have a really hard time comprehending the concept and asks if she can take our drink orders first then she'll go back around the table and take the food orders...anyway. 10 minutes later we get 1 coffee and 1 water. 10 minutes after that we get 3 glasses put on the table and she proceeds to pour the water at the table...and on one of my party. 20 minutes goes by and my other friend who had initially ordered a cappuccino still has none. 10 minutes later 2 plates of food come out and the runner asks if we need anything else. We say "the rest of our food". She then looks at us and says what food not seeing that only 2 of 4 people had food. She disappears as she 'checks' on it and 10 minutes later our space cadet waitress returns and offers the same "How is everything" refrain and again like her co-worker, oblivious to the fact that only 2 people have their food. 15 minutes go by and we have to force our friends to eat theirs due to their desire to remain polite until we get our food. Over an hour after initially sitting down the manager comes out with the rest of our food. Did I mention part of the order was wrong? Yeah, well it was, but we were so hungry that we ate it. 2:30 and to condense: the check was completely wrong, took 30 min to sort out, we were charged for everything we got and didn't get and when we finally got the correct check...no pen to sign. Ground control to Major Tom...West Egg staff is needed back on Earth.
Great Place for Breakfast but... – I have updated my rating to Recommended (from Highly Recommended) after visiting West Egg more than 20 times. West Egg is a fun and quirky place. However, they are inconsistent and we have found ourselves leaving dissatisfied more and more lately. The service is usually attentive, but we frequently have to wait a long time for our specialty coffees from the barista, sometimes until after our meal is delivered. One time, the waitress stated that another waiter had taken my coffee, but it took another 15 minutes to get my new one. I was floored that my coffee order did not go to the front of the line after this incident! The food is another inconsistent area. While they have specials that are unique and pretty yummy, and their biscuits are better than Flying Biscuit, the grits are often underseasoned and the scrambled eggs are frequently overcooked, rubbery, and hardly have any cheese (which I always request). We keep going back because it is one of the only places with good specialty coffee and a unique menu, but we have stopped going as often because of the things I mentioned. We haven't given up hope yet, but if things don't improve, this will no longer be our favorite place for breakfast.
