So far, it's a so-so effort for this music locale, formerly Vinyl, perched above Earthlink Live. Open design is perfect to pack in bodies for DJ-spun dancing or live shows under the impressive light display. A smattering of pleather couches encourages a little bad behavior, while friendly bartenders at three bars mix drinks for melody makers. – – The Draw – The Loft's claim to fame are the varied genres of bands it showcases and club-hoppers who are as diverse as…

give vinyl a chance!

Despite the hestiation in checking out new venues in Atlanta... especially those that feature local music - everyone needs to check out Vinyl at least once.

- Great local bands

- Cool social scene

- If someone in your crowd isn't hot about the band, they can drink at the bar, lounge around on a sofa, play pool or various arcade games.

- Really cool atmosphere.

- Pay for parking underneath Earthlink Live and you get a free drink ticket.

- Also, every Thursday night from 11-1PM, Jay Harren from 99x, spins brit-rock, local, and new music.

Really cool place. Seriously. I recommend it highly and I've literally been to every venue in Atlanta. It's versatility will never leave you bored.

  • Pros: free Thursdays, cool atmosphere, good local music
  • Cons: new venue=still fresh, cheap

The Details on Vinyl at CW Midtown Music Complex

Parking:

The best place to stow your ride is the Earthlink Live pay lot or one of the open lots in the area. There is little off-street parking in this bustling part of town.

When to Go:

Check first to see when live bands are performing. Definitively worth a trip to catch a live show, while off nights may be less entertaining.
