“The salon is beautifully decorated in ultra chic and trendy decor which adds to the great atmosphere.”
“The service was excellent and if I had to have a con, it would be that a lot of the stylist had multiple clients at one time and would go back and forth betweent the clients meaning you or the other client would have to wait 15 minutes or so back and fort”
“Too groovy for good customer service!”
“The style came out great and it is a huge improvement from when I first arrived at the salon.”
“The staff is friendly and warm if yoy live in the area or if you don't mind the drive (30 minutes) give them a visit.”
Poor customer service--Don't go! You will not like the staff.
The front desk staff and the manager seldom answer the phone and are extremely rude and short when trying to solve a problem.
You cannot speak to your stylist to schedule or discuss any changes.
They will charge your card immediately for missing an appointment even if the error is on their side.
What they don't realize is that there is a hair salon on every corner in Atlanta and no has to put up with their behavior.
My hair was damaged here!!!!!!.
First of all, the lady who washed my hair broke my hair as she washed it. I could hear my hair tearing and breaking. She wash washing my hair as if she was attacking a lion. After that, I was left sitting for 30 minutes with wet hair. No one told me why I was waiting, or why my hair dresser left me sitting. Then a random guy came up to blow dry my hair, and gave me no explanation...nothing. Then the lady doing my hair, ran the blow dryer again after the guy did it, she was rough as can be. She had no reverence for my hair. she did not care that she was damaging my hair.
My hair was limp and heat damaged. It smelled like burned goat skin and the burnt smelled was so overpowering I had to wash out my 95 dollars of dissapointment the same day and my hair did not revert back to normal.
My hair was washed in cold water and The trim I got was really bad, and uneven. They never apologized for the cold water, they never apologized for having me sit for 30 minutes with wet hair. Nothing.
Now I have to nurse my hair back to health because of the negligence i experienced in the hand of a too groovy hair dresser. Not saying all of them are, just that the hairdressers you hire reflect on the business as a whole.
Never again. Be careful who you let handle your natural hair. Not all hair dressers understand how to handle it.
Too Groovy needs to be careful about who they appoint as natural hair specialists because the hair dresser I got was far from it.
AWEFUL Client Service. The Stylist I've been to are great - Parrissa, DeMaris, & Danny - but the customer service at the front desk is AWEFUL. Reminds me alot of the the type of service I use to get a NSEYA....look what happened to them. I would recommend going to Barrons of London in Buckhead (Diana Pagan is my stylist). She does naturals gets you in and out and the staff at that salon is friendly & professional....and the prices are reasonable.
Fantastic service. This is THE place to go if your hair is natural and you are looking for the best treatment for your hair. I usually get my hair steamed my hair for maybe fifteen minutes and that leaves my hair silky soft, my only concern was the high heat of the blow dryer. I often tell my mother this is where i would get my hair done for the wedding.
NOT TOO GROOVY CANCELLATION!. Never again! Let me start by letting you know up front that if they cancel your appointment-your best bet is to be a psychic! Even after I showed & read the CONFIRMATION email they sent to me(not the cancellation email)to the "receptionist"- not ONCE did he apologize,& not once did he offer to reschedule me. When I made my appointment, they told me I was already in the system since my first & only visit to this salon in 2007. It is NOT my job to update their system & they never asked me when I made the appointment. They insisted repeatedly they sent the cancellation, even though I'm standing there READING what they sent to me. He says:"We also called you on Tuesday."-3 days b4 appt- and only once did they email me. So, I verified the number they called - it was wrong! I STILL haven't heard an apology, and I STILL wasn't asked if I'd like to reschedule. I went through hell getting there to be received as though it was MY fault that they cancelled! At a minimum, they could've scheduled me with someone else and let me decide if that's okay. Once I got home, I called to speak with a manager. I was given the "receptionist"! Turns out he was the so-called asst mgr,Jamal,& he proceeds to tell me he checked their outbox & they sent me the cancellation. REALLY??!! Is that STILL all I get to hear as the PAYING CUSTOMER who was actually going to make this a WEEKLY VISIT?! Black salons need to get it together! A real biz would've been glad to see my loyalty in returning after 3 years.CLEARLY, they have ALL the business they need...in THIS economy.
Relaxed Hair. My appointment was for 6:00. However, when I arrived I had to wait approximately 45 minutes before being called.. I must say that my time is very important and I did not appreciate the wait. My hair is relaxed and was washed and blowed dry... not good for relaxed hair. Well, by the time I was a through, I must say the style was nice, but my hair was hard and felt dry. Not soft and silky... I was not impressed... and with the $55.00 price tag decided that this was not the salon for me. I will continue my search for a good salon... with good customer service.
Great Salon and Location.
Attention All~
Please be advised that Natasha is not you're stylist!! AWFUL would be an understatement to describe my experience with her. She is very unprofessional, inconsiderate and heavy handed. I suggested that she take it easy on me and she totally ignored my suggestion and mumbled a derogatory response. A couple minutes later, she burned my scalp four times. I politely advised her that my time with her was up and proceeded to management. Manager/Sybil was very professional, understanding and apologetic. She referred me to another stylist within minutes. Let me just say "Sybil saved the day". I will be returning to stylist/Salentia or Sarentia (spell check please, her booth is upstairs) in a couple weeks…yippee~
What A Difference!. First let me say that I am VERY particular about my hair. The condition of my hair, the way it is handled by a stylist, the way it is cut...are all very important to me. I made a decision to discontinue my use of relaxers because my hair cannot handle both relaxers and color (color is becoming more important as gray hair continues to show up). I read about Too Groovy and decided to call for an appointment. I asked the receptionist to refer someone who was good at cutting hair. She gave me a list of stylists and I chose Parissa. Let me just say that my 1st experience was wonderful! I had steam therapy and a hair cut. I walked out of the salon and as soon as I arrived at my next destination, the compliments began...one woman even guessed that I went to TOO GROOVY- WOW! My hair bounced, behaved and had a natural shine that I'd never experienced. I've been back once more and the compliments continue (while on vacation in Miami a caucasian woman even took a picture of my hair to go back and show her stylist!). I don't usually write reviews but I know how helpful they can be. Take it from me (a clients who is hard to please) that Parissa at Too Groovy does a great job! I now have standing appointments with her. The salon will tell you that all of their stylists do a great job but I am not one to have different people doing my hair each week. I plan to have some color in the next few weeks so I will write an update afterwards. I hope this is helpful :)
Make sure you're not tender headed.
I went to too groovy last night, as a last minute appointment. When It came time to comb and dry my hair, I thought I was a rag doll. Natasha was rough, which made my experience not pleasant at all. I ask her to be gentle, but it didn't appear to make a diffence to her. I'm not even going to repeat her response.
As a positve, she is a great sylist, just need help in the customer service department. So if you're tenderheaded, don't choose her.
Fantastic Experience - Will Definitely Return. Too Groovy salon exceeded my expectations! I'll just rattle off everything I loved about it: 1) The shampooist greeted me on time; 2) Everyone in the salon was friendly, approachable and professional; 3) My stylist, Parissa, didn't push the steam treatment even though I thought I might need it - she had enough integrity to tell me my hair was healthy enough without it; 4) Parissa is a wizard with the scissors - she gave me EXACTLY the cut I asked for; 5) Every client I saw had a head of healthy hair (short or long) and now I do too! I only wish they had a location in Dallas (where I live) but until then, I'll be visiting Atlanta every 3 months or so to get my 'do taken care of. Kudos to Too Groovy!
