Fantastic Experience - Will Definitely Return

Too Groovy salon exceeded my expectations! I'll just rattle off everything I loved about it: 1) The shampooist greeted me on time; 2) Everyone in the salon was friendly, approachable and professional; 3) My stylist, Parissa, didn't push the steam treatment even though I thought I might need it - she had enough integrity to tell me my hair was healthy enough without it; 4) Parissa is a wizard with the scissors - she gave me EXACTLY the cut I asked for; 5) Every client I saw had a head of healthy hair (short or long) and now I do too! I only wish they had a location in Dallas (where I live) but until then, I'll be visiting Atlanta every 3 months or so to get my 'do taken care of. Kudos to Too Groovy!

• Pros: Skilled stylists, friendly/polite staff, started on time!
• Cons: I don't live in Atlanta :-(

Best I've been to in a LONG Time!

I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Too Groovy Salon! I asked someone where she gets her hair done and she said Too Groovy in Atlanta. Her hair was beautiful! Healthy, shiny, and full of body. I don't live in Atlanta, but based on the look and feel of her hair, a road trip was definitely in order.

I decided to make a transition to Natural, and not have any relaxers in my hair, to allow it to grow, and get back to really being healthy. Once I heard Too Groovy was a slaon that specializes in healthy, natural hair, and doesn't have perm on the premises, I immediately called to book an appointment.

Since I don't live in Atlanta, I called for directions, when I got turned around trying to located the salon. The receptionist was very friendly, and professional on the phone. Upon arriving, I was immediatley greeted with a smile, and water while I sat in the lobby for my stylist. Natasha.

Natasha and I briefly talked about the state of my hair, before going to the shampoo bowl. This was THE BEST SHAMPOO SERVICE I have ever received! Natasha really made sure the products deeply penetrated my scalp, and she didn't do a quick 10 minute wash (like I'm accustomed to) She took her time to massage my scalp, and ensure my hair really soaked up the products.

After shampooing she applied several conditioners on my hair and sat me under the steamer for 20 mins. My first time experiencing a steam treament, and now I'm on a mission to find someone in my city that uses it!

After rinsing the conditioner out, and blow drying and trimming my ends, I ran my fingers through my hair and was amazed. My hair felt like a Cabbage Patch Corn Silk Doll's hair! I was impresed at how straight, but great it felt.

Because my hair is growing out from a short cut from last July, it is kind of in the "in between stage," so I will say that I wasn't WOWED by the style once complete, but my hair felt AWESOME! Natasha was a professional, courtesous, and attentive stylist. She talked about all of the products she was using on my hair, and how they would benefit my hair. I was very impressed with her and the attention she gave my hair. She wrote down a list of the products she used on my hair for me to reference later.

I am trying to figure out how I can budget to go to to Atlanta to go to Too Groovy every month!! I have not been this happy with my hair at all this year until I went to Too Groovy!

Great Salon for people who want to learn to love their hair!

I've been going to Too Groovy Salon every week for almost a year now. While I started going for the professional atmosphere, I continue to go because I finally realized how important my hair is to me. When I started at this salon, I had a perm which I’d had all my life. Some months and years with my perm were good with my hair growing well but there would always come a period in time when I would suddenly have a bout with breakage. Was it my diet? Was it because I’d been wearing my hair pulled back? Was it because of stress? I never knew the reason but I’d always feel that sinking feeling knowing how long it was going to take to get my hair back in shape. In comes Tehira who showed me the benefits for me of going natural. At the beginning I fought with her, never wanting her to cut too much of the perm. I even argued that this “natural” business which in the beginning I called “nappy” was a game! And then, it happened. I finally saw the beauty of my natural hair. I saw my edges fill in, I saw my hair get thicker, I saw my hair beautiful and manageable when it’s wet and I feel the feeling of no longer worrying about breakage. So, if you want a quick do, go anywhere. If you want a real change for your hair and how you feel about it, go to Too Groovy. The stylists there are funny like Courtney, quiet like Tehira, sophisticated like Lavonne, skilled like Danny and sassy like LeShon but they all have in common that they truly care about the condition of your hair. You may not been in agreement but your hair will always be the better.
