Who Needs Starbucks?. Really, who needs Starbucks when you’ve got Joe’s? The coffee is 1000x better here and it’s much cheaper. The service is always friendly and super fast. I can get in and out fast or I can hang out here and relax with some breakfast pastries. They’re also known for some amazing cupcakes in the afternoon which I’ve gotten to enjoy a few different times. The place is always busy but no one ever has to wait long. They certainly know what they’re doing here.

a great coffee shop. I love Joe's interiors. It's an add up on their best served coffee and friendly atmosphere. It's what one should feel in a coffee house and it did impress me.

Great Place. Love the coffee, the cupcakes and cakes, the vibe, and the staff. Best place for my 3:00 p.m. cup of Joe. Don't understand why parking is a problem for some folks. Maybe they don't know that there is parking in the back.

Great atmosphere, bad product. I go to Joe's because it's walking distance to my house, not because I particularly enjoy the product.

I know they have to keep up with Starbucks but damn, y'all..DAMN! Why does the iced coffee have sugar in it? Iced coffee is supposed to be cold pressed, brewed for 12-24 hrs. Iced coffee shuld never, EVER be hot coffee (i don't care how mucxh you brew it-double triple, quadruple) poured over ice.

An abomination unto the lord, I say!

The drip coffee is pretty decent. Intelligentsia is a good roaster. It would be better if they were closer and you could get fresh beans, though. However, it seems like Joe's buys darker Intelligentsia roasts in order to compete with the Starbucks burnt flavor profile....or maybe it's ground too fine or there's too much coffee being used? I don't know but the drip always has a slight bitterness, no matter what varietal/blend you get.

The espresso drinks. Depends on who's making them. Some of the baristas are excellent at pulling shots, some are not. After quite a few bad shots. (My drink of choice is a simple machiatto (good crema+milk foam=heaven) I just decided to stick to drip coffee.

However, what redeems the place is it's atmosphere. Sure there's the requisite yuppies working on their laptops, having meetings and such. But there's also a lot of traffic from SOPO Bike Coop, that cool, older white rasta- he always has a friendly smile and kind word. There's that beatiful coi pond and patio area. And then there's the art.

Ronnie Land is genius. Amazing stuff--remember the Wal-mart Trail of tears? The overpriced yuppie shitholes? What an amazing local artist.

Proximity and R.Land are the only things that keep me returning to Joe's. Oh, and the fact that the staff has gotten A LOT better in recent times. No offense, but remember that beautiful but whacked out woman with the dark curly hair? Nowadays, staff is freindly and knowledgeable, but stick to drip, if you know what's good for ya!

BEST coffee in the best place! El lugar esta tan comodo!. This is one of my homes away from home!

Dawn and AL makes everyone feel at home. They remember everyone and treat everyone well.

The Intelligencia Coffee out of Chicago that they serve is the best in the World. Especially the Sumatra.....

The internet is great! Just for a $1.50 cup of coffee.

The best clients and the best servers!

And the same for Perk in Glenwood Park! My second home away from home!

Great coffee, great atmosphere. Joe's is the hub of East Atlanta; the place where EAVers stop for coffee in the morning and hang out at any part of the day. It's got a comfy living-room vibe and Joe's serves up a wide variety of hot and cold drinks. My favorites are the iced coffee and their cafe au lait.

Their pastries are outstanding, especially the cupcakes (try the key lime or red velvet ones).

Intelligentsia beans and great key lime cupcakes. Excellent coffee, extremely cool staff, and a good space that has enough room to accomodate people who want to work quietly and people who want to talk. And R.Land art on the walls.

Best coffee, best staff, best late night action.. Great coffee, great art, great staff! And if you get there after 11pm you can take part in the FREE GIANT 0RGY! Lots of gay dudes which is cool but I'm not gay so I want to see more D in V action instead of D in A or Ds rubbing Ds but I'll take what I can get. After all its a FREE GIANT 0RGY!!!

Great neighborhood joint with really good Sumatra!. From the staff to the coffee Joe's is a great experience. Where else in the village can you get a great Sumatra or Green Tea, hook up to the internet for free, meet with colleagues for work, meet with friends when you are tired of the smokey bars, sit outside on an antique glider with your dog and/or hang out on a big fat couch and just read a book or a gently used New York Times?

Several roomy tables for laptops and school or work-assignments with accesible plug-ins for power cords. At least 4 fluffy couches for when business isn't calling. One fireplace for when it's cold outside. Outside deck in back and several outside tables for when the sun minus the pollen is calling.

Try the daily brew for some variety but the daily Sumatra is always a strong tasty cup. For when i'ts hot the house specialty "Joe's Iced Coffee" is the one to try. Ask for a half sweet half unsweet to save some sugar and still taste the cold sumatra on ice, my favorite!

The biscotti is great as is their 4 layer-chocolate-monster-cake. Muffins in the morning, cake in the afternoon and all the "Loss Cat" you can find on the walls. Lots of free parking in front and back. What's not to like?
