I wasn't impressed. Yes, the food was tasty but not any better than any other Chinese restaurant and at twice the price. Do yourself a favor. Find a good, inexpensive Chinese restaurant and go there. This just wasn't worth it.

My Favorite for ANY occasion!!!. Mu Lan is my FAVORITE!! The food is FRESH and delicious!! My favorite dish is the Mango Prawns!! Mmmmmm!!!! The service is always prompt, friendly and professional! I feel like they pay attention to every little detail. Since I discovered this jewel of place, I've been here more times than I can count and never had a problem. In the warmer months, patio dining is great. In addition, inside the atmosphere is one of classy, asian simplicity with a touch elegance. If you visit and you're not seated upstairs be sure to ask them if you can tour up and check out the lovely decorations. They have private rooms which I've used for Girls Night Out and Birthday dinners. This place is impressive ALL the way around!! You won't be disappointed.

Great for dining in or delivery. My husband and I order from Mu Lan all the time. The food is always great. They will make things to order too - for example if you like hot and spicy (which we do) they will make a fiery version of anything on the menu. We also enjoy dropping in on them from time to time to soak up some of thier ambiance.

Everyone there is very friendly and the restaurant (interior) is a very romantic place for dates. We also enjoy the patio for eating with friends or people watching.

Excellent, fast take out!. We order deliver from Mu Lan somedays ago and the service was fast and the food was very good. The sweet/sour chicken that is ussualy full of fat in other restaurants, was light and delicious, with true cooked peaches in the sauce. We really liked and the price was very reasonable, considering that it was 9:30 on a friday night.

midtown's only way to go for a $15 lunch - great deal -. i had a dished called the trio - beef schrimp - chicken - egg roll and hot and sour soup - $6.95 and it was very good and i could only eat half of it - - i appreciate value these days - especially in mid-town -

Formal setting overshadows Chinese cuisine in this Midtown venture.. The Scene
A renovated old Victorian-style house uses its multi-room layout to cozy effect. The grand sweep of original stairs cradles nouveau nooks, and deeply stained original woods and hand-rubbed walls contrast with glossy flourishes of passionate red and Oriental accents. The most fancy feather in the cap of the Chin Chin chain's co-owner, Mu Lan, doesn't lean towards Midtown contemporary, but the crowd does.

The Food
Dishes are more art pieces than traditional Chinese share-and-share-alike centerpieces, but not all is as exciting as the surroundings. Pork dumplings are pleasantly piquant bowties, but velvet corn crab soup and garlic-ground shrimp rolls cry for seasoning. Shrimp are plump and sculptural, perhaps at the expense of adequate temperature. Red curry salmon blends smoothly, while flash-fried Hunan red snapper invigorates with its Chinese vinegar. For dessert, sample coconut, mango and green tea ice creams, which come sizzling in a poundcake ball.

Nothing special. I get their delivery once in a while and was very pleased with the prices once when I stopped by for lunch. However, there was something missing with dinner. The food is predictable chinese and is better than most I've had in Atlanta. However, the prices were a bit high for dinner and the service was kind of awkward. The atmosphere was nice, but there was nothing that stood out about this place.

Beautiful space but.... Wow a great chinese restaurant not located on Buford Highway? NOT!!! I was so excited to watch the transformation of the space on Juniper. I would salivate every night as I drive home waiting for the opening. Everything was bland and too "American-Chinese for me". And hello - I am an American born Chinese!

This is a beautiful space - but the food is far from it. I'd rather keep driving to Buford Highway for my true and authentic chinese food fix.

Great Dining, Even Better Delivery. Consistently great food since they opened. I'm unsure why it's not more crowded, but the lack of crowds is everyone's gain for delivery (within 10 minutes). Highly recommended (and you can order dine-in specials for delivery once they get to know you).

Great Food, No Wait. Mu Lan is another midtown restaurant that has great food and atmosphere, but it is never crowded. It offers consistently good Chinese food with a great deal of variety on the menu.
