Editorial Review. Intimate French bistro in East Atlanta Village has reasonable prices and a welcoming patio.
Oh! the pain!. I live down the street, have dined at Le Hinds' before, but will not be returning....ever! I orderd the 10 oz.swordfish steak, it was tougher to cut than shoe-leather. Naturally, I sent it back. A man came out a few moments later professing to be the co-owner (though this one I've never met). He admonished me for selecting a fish whose texture I appear to know nothing about and that his was not a fish-market capable of assuming the loss of the steak!! He then proceeded to let me know he would gladly substitute another fish (I chose the grouper), but would charge me the larger price for the swordfish!! It's one thing to overcook a piece of fish, it's another to imply that your repeat customers are stupid! They will no longer enjoy either my business or recommendations.
2 words... Quaint and Delicious. I love this place! It just has a cozy feel to it. It's sort of elegant and whimsical at the same time. It really feels like you are in a little french bistro. All of the staff is very nice. The owners come out and talk to you. The food is simply a delight. I love sauces and theirs are great. I have found myself licking the plate when no one was looking. Check out the Salmon! I think this place is relatively new. But I hope they're around a long time.
Got to be the best kept secret in Atlanta!. Simply put it was great! The place is quiet and intimate wonderful ambience, great mood music... and the food was excellent. I went last Friday for dinner and had the Grilled Grouper and it is a winner. My girlfriend had the Shrimp and Scallops and they were huge and delicious. We enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to try out the Sunday Brunch and it was great too....
They've gotten better. I went last month and two servers quit had and the owner was there serving. He kept apologizing profusely for the delayed service. Otherwise, the atmosphere, the food was exceptional. The menu had green beans as the only side, but we had our choice of mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. No, it's not really French, but wouldn't they bit stretching it a bit for East Atlanta? Also, the bar is now open and serving. The bar is really cool and it's always quiet. Good date place or pre-Alliance cocktail place.
awful service, average food.
We were (sort of) greeted by two girls that were behind the bar. Neither moved with any urgency to help us. We seated ourselves.
We had the Tilapia sandwich (nothing special, with flavorless "veggie" chips) and the Grouper entree (good seasonings, but why are green beans and pilaf the only sides?). No liquor license so we brought a bottle of white wine, which we had to open. No ice bucket was provided. Saltines crackers were served with the meal.
Our server simultaneously gave us the check and asked if we wanted dessert/coffee. She was friendly but unprofessional and inexperienced. A place that serves $18. entrees should have *great* service.
The music came from a corner-mounted TV. Weird ambiance.
Maybe if they really did serve *good* French food and provided adequate service this place might have a fighting chance at becoming a neighborhood fave.
Dined there Sat nite 01-17.
Decided to try it out. Had to get our own silverware from adjacent table. My partner's shrimp were good and fresh. My rib eye steak was very thing, quality could have been better.. seasoning on all is excellent. Prompt service is good.
but if a gourmet restaurant, why did they have to place A-1 Sauce on table with steak.
If this is a French rest. where was the Onion soup??
and the only vegetable is Green beans. They were good, but listed with all entries...boring!
Well, only open 2 weeks. Let's give them a couple of months and will try them again.
I don't drink, but my partner might have liked a glass of wine. No booze yet.
Only 9 tables, maybe that is good.
Location is kind of hard to find in East Atlanta.
I hope they make it!
