In Short
Leapfrogging Ria's Bluebird to its new digs a mere 3 doors down, Six Feet Under didn't miss a beat when it changed locations off Meorial Drive. It still overlooks the cemetery and yes, it still has a rooftop patio. Gone are the blond wood-paneled walls, but that down-home fishhouse feel came with it to the loftier space in the Jane. Efficient servers bustle amid wooden tables and booths, adding to the convivial atmosphere that draws a lively crowd of young singles and families. While the fish tacos are tasty and playful, like a true seafood house--the best fish here is fried. The light and flaky Georgia catfish platter comes with sides of coleslaw--delightfully enhanced by white raisins--crispy hush puppies and decent corn on the cob. The smoky sauteed rainbow trout platter with spinach and potatoes stands out as a slightly healthier alternative to the popular baskets of battered seafood.

We waited 2 and a half HOURS to be seated at Six Feet Under. This is not an overexaggeration, this is the honest to God truth. We called ahead and explained there would be 8 people for a birthday dinner (obviously a special event). They said there will be no problem. When we arrived they instructed us to wait at bar until our whole party was there, 10 minutes later everyone was accounted for. They explained it will be about 20-30 minutes. ONE HOUR passes, no table. We find that larger parties came in after us and were seated 'accidently, it was a mistake' and those parties were also for birthdays and were not getting up for a while. We waited TWO AND HALF HOURS before getting rude and very upset. They basically told us we could leave. WHAT. Eventually they put us at a high top table in the bar area (how special... not so much). We were just happy to finally be seated and eating. We knew if we left and went elsewhere it would be pretty hard to get a table. They put us in an unfortunate situation. I understand issues and mistakes do happen but the way they handled the situation was less than good. DO NOT EAT THEIR IF YOU'RE WITH A LARGE PARTY OF PEOPLE! The food was good so we left happily full. They didnt comp anything though (not that we expected it, but just throwing that out there).

My Wife and I have been here before and everything was good so of course we came back. This time it was terrible and we decided to come on Valentines Day because we wanted some good food. Nope this was CLEARLY not the case I ordered fried oysters for appitizer they tasted like grease and were cold. For our main course we ordered the Crab Legs we got only three clusters and they were so small and cold along with the fact they were not seasoned. The Claws were the size of Claws on Blue Crabs. Now the drinks were the best we had the Killer Margaritas WOW is all i can say. This was HORRIBLE NOT RECOMMENDED.

I'm one to try anything at least once (let's clarify, almost anything) and if I like it I more than likely love it! Don't know if I'll be taking any stolls through the cemetary (conveniently located across the street) however; I tried the shrimp tacos and could swear I'd gone to heaven. I loved the taste, then the sauce (whatever it was), add a little tabasco....mmm mmm good. Love the salad with the 'hot bacon' dressing. The clam chowder is pretty good (the clams are definitely fresh). I've never been disappointed here. Gotta love consistency!
