“This is an Apple store yet the workers are more like rude fast food employees.”
“When I think of Apple, I think of friendly, helpful folks.”
Wow! The Victoria's Secret store for tech geeks!.
If you're as won over as I am by new gadgets or the latest upgrades, this is your kind of place. Computers, laptops, phones, iPods, and accessories galore fill this place. There's not a lot of retail stores in Atlanta that I would expect to line up outside of before it opens, but come iPad 2 time there I was, just like camping out for Crue tickets in '87! The staff was great, and the store is easy to get around in despite everything they have on display. They also offer a number of services, none of which I've actually had to utilize (my wife is an IT specialist at work so I'm pretty much covered there), but any time I've been there they seem to draw a lot of customers for these services. I've not had an unsatisfactory experience yet - you can probably find some of this stuff cheaper online or at one of the TarMarts in town, but I love having someone who can adequately assist me in making the right selection.
But wear sunglasses - it's like a robot hospital in this palce, with the brightness and whiteness!
The large, white retail equivalent of Apple's online catalog is available at major shopping areas nationwide..
In Short
Frosted glass doors, white floors, and minimal hardwood shelving allow a lot of open space for these often-crowded shops. A young, hip staff outfitted in black T-shirts and lanyard nametags help families and students find iBook and iMac computers and software. Teens and 20-somethings can be found checking out the latest iPod MP3 players and accessories before heading home to download music and audio from Apple's iTunes.com to their new toys.
Macs, iPhones, iPods, and Excellent Service!. I went here recently to get a new cable and headset for my iPod. There was a whole table full of activated iPhones that customers could play with: make calls, surf the net, google maps, try out all the features. It was so much fun. The sales associate helping me get the merchandise I needed. He told me that the store offers free classes in the iPhone, whether you buy it or not. Also they have a program for Macintosh users. For $99, you get i hour per week of lessons on any computer-related subject you want help with -- iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie or just the basics of the OS. That's 52 hours of lessons for 100 bucks. This person, James, found everything I needed, and checked me out with great courtesy. This company knows how to serve customers. And their products aren't bad, either.
