The Scene
From sunflower-yellow walls to flashy light fixtures adorned with multicolored marbles, this boutique caters to urban fashionistas. The shimmery and sexy clothes catch the eye, but you'll also be drawn to smaller, fun items, such as a purse made out of newspaper or the bath confetti. Pictures with sassy girl-power quotes and cartoon images hanging throughout add pizzazz. A clearance rack and stylish men's apparel also beckons.
The Goods
Whether you buy a pair of designer jeans with crochet accents or a Latin-inspired dress with ruffles and sequins, no one will be wearing the same outfit. The clothing, cut to fit small waists and larger hips, ranges from casual to evening wear. Sizes go up to 16, uncharted territory for most boutiques. The store's collection of chic boots and imported Italian shoes sets off jeans by Joe's, Buffalo, Vitamina and Paper, Denim and Cloth. Purses start at $25, while an evening gown might run $300.

I wanted a new pair of jeans, but was used to traditional sizing, like 2,4,6,8. I didn't know how to figure out my size for the new designer jeans. I told the owner this. She was so helpful, looked at me, told me my size and found the perfect jeans. It was so easy. I'm 38 years old, so I didn't want the super low cut, that I couldn't bend over in without showing everything. I have gotten so many compliments on my jeans. They were expensive, $169 plus tax, but really worth it. After going to Kaleidoscope, I never want to look for jeans in a mall store again. This was a great experience. I will definitely be back!

Kaleidoscope Boutique offers clothing and accessories that are stylish without being overly trendy. The selection of design, sizes, and prices is varied enough for a shopper of most any age, shape, or means to find something to walk out with. The selection also covers weekend casual to special occasion dress-up. The jeans, though, are the real draw. Camille, the owner, has a preternatural ability to look at you and immediately select a pair of jeans that makes you feel like a rock star. As to the previous reviewer who experienced an overly aggressive sales pitch, I'll admit that there was a girl who worked at Kaleideoscope about a year ago who I couldn't stand. She's long gone now, and the current staff has always offered a pleasant, no-stress shopping experience.
