Editorial Review for MF Sushibar – by John Kress
The Scene
It's clear from the moment you step off the Ponce de Leon Avenue sidewalk that MF is not your typical Atlanta sushi bar. From the lush techno beats that punctuate the conversations of hip Midtown diners to the sleek, sexy blond-wood fixtures, this place exudes cool. Staffers--dressed like a million bucks--work the room with admirable efficiency, especially considering space constraints when the crowd swells.
The Food
Welcome to the city's most impressive selection of sashimi and sushi, with a few tempting appetizers thrown in for good measure. Start with spicy tuna tartare--you pour your own quail egg into a mound of ruby red fish. Melt-in-your-mouth toro (fatty tuna belly) is a good choice for a sashimi or nigiri order, as is the delicate kampachi (described as "very young yellowtail"). Rolls are also deftly executed. The Tony roll--featuring tempura shrimp, crab and avocado--is a clear crowd-pleaser.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyVisit at lunch, when specially priced sushi and sashimi combos are accompanied by miso soup and ginger salad.
Know Before You GoIf your experience with sake has been limited to "hot" or "cold," MF is a great place to experiment. Raspberry and hazelnut varieties are among the 30-odd choices.
The ExtrasAfter dinner, slip next door to Krispy Kreme for piping-hot doughnuts.

MF sushi was the big word in japanese restaurants of atlanta but being a person knowledgeable in sushi, this was a very big upset! too expensive for the quality i was served! maybe it was a bad day but i feel like i paid for the ambiance more than the food! I WANT GOOD FOOD IN A RESTAURANT!!! if i wanted ambiance i would go to a club or a nice bar. not traditional sushi, nor is it true-fusion
Pros: great ambiance
Cons: customers pay too much for the ambiance

The sushi is by far the best quality and taste in town. The service is ok. It all depends on the server.
