Atlanta >
Kenny's AlleyIrish Bread and Pub. I have had really unpleasant interactions with other patrons in Kenny's Alley. African American man came up and bothered me and my friend while we were trying to eat lunch here. The waitstaff did little to make him leave. This will be the last time I go to Underground Atlanta.
Depends on your mood. The Island Oasis can be just what the doctor ordered if you are looking to get drunk fast while listening to good music. Bartenders are very friendly and make killer drinks, but the patrons are not always as cordial. The crowd is a little rough - its definitely not upscale or trendy - dress code is nonexistent for those who don't want to dress up to go out.
Cheapest party in Underground. This is a great spot to party or pre-party on the weekends. They have an excellent DJ and a great sound system. It's the cheapest place to go in underground. The cover was only 5 dollars for ladies and 10 for guys. The drinks are cheap and strong too!! There was no line and everybody was just having a great time. It sure beat waiting 30 minutes in line at Motion to find out that they wanted 30 bucks to enter. We headed straight to the Island Oasis.
CHILLING @ the OAISIS. Great place to chill and relax. Similar to your neighborhood bar with friendly people and the bartendars are great!!! Go when Tammy is tending the bar she always serves a smile with your order.
Prepare for entertainment overload at the nightlife destinations at the Underground..
The Scene
A barrage of clubs, bars and music should heat things up in the Underground--and give the downtown nightlife scene a boost. Thanks to a special district designation, these bars can keep pouring until 4am, and allow you can carry your drink from spot to spot.
The Draw
The largest of the clubs are the high-energy designed-to-impress Motion, House and Mercury Club. Music lovers will find something to suit any mood: rock and roll at Alley Cat, live reggae at Jamaica Jamaica, acoustic music at the tropical Island Oasis, and show tunes at Charlie Brown's Cabaret. Irish Bred Pub & Grill, Red Star Vodka Lounge and Triple Play round out the entertainment.
Skip It.
I really wonder why people would make a visit to Island Oasis. Cruddy looking and poorly kept up makes it no fun. The drinks don't taste that good and have no alcohol in them.
Bartenders look and act like they want to be somewhere else.
Festive frozen drinks in a variety of flavors keep visitors slurping the night away at this Underground nightspot..
In Short
Come here early for a fruity frozen concoction and stay for the live music and friendly, laid-back crowds. While the guitarist picks '80s hair metal and pop ditties, tourists, regulars and downtown stragglers mingle around the large bar and sing along, or watch one of several televisions. After a few icy concoctions like the Rum Runner, Cappuccino and Strawnananna, visitors are ready to venture to neighboring clubs Future or Latin Sol.
