“easy parking, clean -”
“My experience was horrible, they mentioned on website thali contains desserts and appetizer, but they told us it will be charged extra.”
“Lovely food, great prices and very helpful staff”
“like the variety.”
“recommend this place to anyone who wants great food and service and not concerned about the looks of the place.”
“Food was excellent all around, and the service was excellent.”
“The price may seem high, but truly Indian food is always expensive and this is all you can eat of 5 to 6 different dishes.”
A long time favorite. I've been eating at this restaurant since it opened and find that it's consistently very good. I have always been overfed and never noticed any stinginess or reluctance to feed me as many helpings as I can make room for. I only wish it wasn't across town, I'd eat there every week.
Highly overated.
After reading all the great reviews, I wanted to try it and experience it myself. My husband went in for lunch and after $20 later, came out still hungry. We love Indian cuisine and I've frequented many vegetarian restaurants before. I thought the food was a bit overcooked. Three our of the five dishes were flavorful and well seasoned but two were just mushy and didn't resembled any vegetables (and it wasn't puree). What was disappointing is that they were stingy on the portions. They're smart to have servers come and control each portion and advertise it as all you can eat. When I asked for a third helping of two particular dishes (the two that I thought were fairly good), they put just a little dallop in the little yogurt size cups. They even skimped on giving me a second helping of rice, which is the cheapest to serve and usually a filler. I took that as a sign that I'm done and shouldn't eat any more. The owner stopped by frequently to chit-chat. The only thing good about the lunch was the saffron ice cream. Like I said, we came out of there $20 poorer and still hungry.
I wouldn't go back again.
FOR Pure VEG Only.
This is really good choice for the people who are pure vegetarian. There is absolutely no meat.
Place is nice and clean and food is tasty, People who love simple and elegant food it is right choice for them.
Your stomach will never get upset , it is not spicy so overall good for kids and others.
Excellent experience, great food. If you are a vegetarian, you probably do not look forward to most restaurant outings as most menus offer a paltry selection for you. Fear not - this restaurant has no menus (well, actually, last time I went they had employed a supplemental menu with appetizers, sweets, and drinks - try the masala tea!) and everything in the place is vegetarian! As other have said, the owner is incredibly friendly and affable, but all of the other employees are very friendly as well. The restaurant is in kind of a "dive" location, and is not the most beautiful place in the world, but the food is great. I only with they would serve naan more often with the meals as I am a big fan.
Fresh all you can eat Vegetarian Indian. The owner is a very interesting, funny and sarcastic guy, I often goto the restaurant to chat with him. The take home desserts and snacks are freshly made in the kitchen, it often becomes an ingredient in my trail mix when I go hiking. The food is a blue light special, but has a appetizer and drink menu. I recommend the samosa and sweet Mango Lassi from the menu. Although there are no buffet table, the food is all you can eat, he just goes back to the kitchen and make some more for you. If you go there once he'll remember you.
One of my top favorites. I fell in love with Vatica my first lunch there. I used to work in the area and would visit Vatica at least once a week for lunch. The food is always interesting, different, and VERY delicious. The owner is awesome, as is the rest of the staff. Go to lunch later on Tuesdays and Thursdays as the noon crowd is pretty heavy, often filling the restaurant to capacity. I only get to make it now for dinner weekdays and lunch on the weekends, but it is a trip worth the drive to Cobb county.
Fresh food that was perfectly seasoned!. Excellent, friendly service. The food was very fresh, perfectly seasoned, simply amazing! The refills were being brought to the table even before you had finished that dish. I left ecstatic and completely stuffed! I will go back, many times over.
Great food at a great price. Vatica is a quaint family run restaurant that serves up vegetarian meals that shouldnt be missed. You get what the cook decides to make that day and it's always very good.
Eat all the homemade vegetarian food you can handle at this little Indian joint..
The Scene
Don't be thrown off by the shabby look of this out-of-the-way spot: Grab one of the booths along the wall and wait for the fun to begin. Lovely silk fabrics hang from the ceiling in a halfhearted attempt to give the place an exotic air. The amusing owner makes corny jokes with everyone--it's just part of the experience.
The Food
There's no menu, no meat and no choice in the matter of your meal. A few minutes after you sit down, someone from the kitchen wheels out a cart with thalis--circular metal trays--for everyone at the table. A thali typically holds dhal (spiced semi-pureed beans), potato curry and another vegetable curry (perhaps eggplant, cauliflower or an unusual Indian squash), fresh bread--either naan or poori (puffy fried bread)--homemade yogurt, plain rice, and a little something sweet. Everything's delicious, and it's all-you-can-eat. Don't forget to ask for the wonderful chutneys.
Great, great food. Great, great service.. There's no menu, but you won't need one. Food was excellent all around, and the service was excellent. The man who owns the place is very friendly and funny. I'd never had Indian food before, but my girlfriend had, and we both enjoyed it very much. Well worth the trip!
