Steer Clear of El Ranchero. Went with a friend from work for the very first time last night and the seating in the booth was tattered and the food was so so. Bill was $38.74 total for an appetizer, pitcher of margarita and two entrees. We decided to split the bill so I told the server to put $20.00 on my credit card and she gave him $20.00 which he brought her $1.26 back. I signed a receipt for the $20.00 and left then when I check my account today they charged me $38.74 and $20.00 for a mediocre meal. Server had to forge my signature on another receipt and kept the $18.74 my girlfriend paid in cash even after we had left him a 20% tip. I called to talk to the manager and he's all cavalier about the incident. Be careful when patronizing this establishment. If you're craving Mexican food try El Nopal down the street where you won't get ripped off.

Loud, crowded, party atmosphere, fast service, o.k. food.. Service was fast and wait staff was eager to please. Staff doesn't speak English very well though. Food came out hot and quick, but was not very good compared to that which you would find in south western states or in Mexico. But pretty typical of what you would get anywhere in the south eastern states. It has a loud atmosphere, to which you dine to hip-hop music playing way too loud. Would have perfered a more authentic Spanish or Mexican music.
