“Great atmosphere!”
“Based on review I saw in Atlanta Magazine (Top 100 Salons), I went to Carina Mia hoping for a fresh new cut.”
“All you thick curly hair people know how hard it is to get a great cut especially in a high humid place like Atlanta.”
“Cut turned out OK (cost about $65) and I like the products I bought, but I didn't feel comfortable enough to go back.”
“There are too many reputable salons in Atlanta to deal with horrible customer service.”
“They charged me a senior stylist price for a full foil when I asked for a partial foil with a junior stylist.”
“don't understand how an owner can give the cold shoulder one minute, only to turn around and ask that I remain a loyal client.”
If you are looking for arrogance and overpriced poor hair services then book yourself here. The owner is a talentless hack and treats not only her customers with disrespect but by the high turnover of her staff its clear she is more than difficult. Its clear from the outdated cuts and colors you see walking out the door that the owner invests zero time in keeping up with trends or setting them herself. There are too many good salons in Atlanta with great stylists and service to waste one penny here. If you want a real sylist go to Helmet Salon in Atlanta where you wont feel ripped off, you get great service, great people and a very contemporary salon.
Best Haircut in Atlanta. I have been going to the Carina Mia Hair Studio for almost four years. Ever since my first cut, I knew I would never go anywhere else. I have the owner, Carina, cut and color my hair. I am in my mid-20s and want fashion forward hair styles. Carina has done an amazing job of taking the time to help me pick out different hairstyles, try different colors, and being patient when I change my mind every couple of months. Right now, I have an asymmetrical haircut with baby bangs and I get asked all the time where I get my hair cut because it looks so great and trendy. I have not found anyone else in Atlanta who can make my hair look so great.
Awesome creativity and service. I recently decided to go to Carina Mia after reading about the salon's numerous rewards both in Atlanta and nationally. To say the least....it exceeded my expectations! I have very unique hair and Carina the owner did an incredible job with my color and hair style. I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a wonderful environment, creative and cutting edge styles and priced extremely well.
Carina SAVED my life!!!.
Carina is a God-send who stayed late one Saturday nite to color correct my hair after I received a hideous color job from a random salon (trying to save some $)!! In tears because my hair color made me look Iike a 36 year old raver, I passed Carina Mia on my way home. I saw some lights still on and desperate... took a chance that they were open. It was obvious Carina was on her way out the door. Even though I had never had my hair done at her salon and she had worked all day already, Carina stayed and color corrected my hair. She did a fantastic job!! I was so pleased. Besides making my hair look great, she opened a bottle of wine and we chatted and laughed. She was so kind to me and put my mind at ease after such a traumatic day. When I told her I went to the random salon to save $...she even gave me a great discount on all that hard work she had just done!!!
Needless to say, I've been going to Carina ever since...several years now. I learned the lesson that you get what you pay for. I always look forward to an experience in Carina's chair where I can relax and know that my hair is in the hands of a talented, experienced stylist who truly cares about her clients. I always get compliments on my hair and have referred several friends who now call Carina their hair stylist. Thanks again Carina, for saving my life!!! :-) You're a gem!!
I'd travel 500 miles to have my hair cut here. I have been going to this salon for a 3 years, and get this, I live in Michigan! Love the cuts, (Carina's), they always last a long time and the color/highlights are so subtle - I get lots of compliments. I do come to GA often for work (which is the only way this living in Michigan and having my hair done in Atlanta deal would work), I travel a ton, and Carina and the staff are always great to work with to get me scheduled and understanding when my schedule needs to change. They always seem to be on time for my appointment; never had to wait more than a few minutes. This is the first time I have written a review, but wanted to share as I can remember the angst of trying to find someone to style my hair! Carina is excellent, really a talent for both color and cut. And one thing I really love is that she does the color, cut, and style herself, just getting someone to wash the hair, but man, what a nice experice that is as well!! Ahhhh - a full head massage and then you leave the shop looking truly amazing!!
Fun people - great haircuts!.
I've been going to Carina Mia for several years now. True, I have been through a few stylists, but each one was replaced by someone better; I certainly can't complain. And I have always had the option of going with my old stylist to their new salon (they told me where they were going...if they were still doing hair at all). Carina has high standards, and stylists who can't live up to those standards don't last.
I do not color my hair, but my haircuts have always been very well done. Olga, my current stylist, is by far the best I've ever had (at Carina Mia or elsewhere). I have received more compliments on my hair - even from strangers - since she's been cutting my hair, than in all the years prior to her becoming my stylist. I highly recommend both Olga and the Carina Mia studio.
Nice Shop, and my stylist is excellent and I always leave with an awesome style.... Great Mens Haircut... Can't speak for the ladies but the ones I've seen in there look very professional. OLGA alwasy takes care of me and my friends that come to the salon and makes sure you leave happy and looking good.
extremely rude and disrepectful. I walked into Carina Mia for the first time hoping to set up a consultation to talk to a stylist about getting highlights. When I first walked in I was not greeted by anyone. After about 5 minutes a lady walked up to me and said "can I help you?". No greeting, no smile, nothing. I told her that I was interested in getting highlights and before I could even get out that I wanted to set up a consultation, she cut me off and said "well no one is available to talk to you right now". So I set up a consultation appointment and left EXTREMELY offended by how rude she was to me. In the meantime I found another salon and completely forgot to cancel with Carina Mia. A few days later I get a call from the secretary at Carina Mia to confirm my appointment. I tell her I want to cancel because of how rudely I was treated. She says "well would you like have your consultation with someone else." I said no, I'm just going to cancel. She never apologized for the other woman's behavior. She never even apologized in general for me having a bad experience at the salon! I would not even recommend this salon to my worst enemy. There are too many reputable salons in Atlanta to deal with horrible customer service.
Weird place. Based on review I saw in Atlanta Magazine (Top 100 Salons), I went to Carina Mia hoping for a fresh new cut. I was there on a Saturday morning, which is usually the busiest time for salons around Atlanta. The place was empty. Plenty of chairs but only the owner (who left to run errands), one stylist, and a painfully shy lady who answered the phone and swept the floor. My appointment was late morning, and I didn't see any other customers until about noon. The stylist talked non-stop, didn't listen a lot, criticized all the products I currently use (Aveda, Futerer, etc.), kept lecturing me to "be open minded", and pressured me to buy Bumble & Bumble products. Cut turned out OK (cost about $65) and I like the products I bought, but I didn't feel comfortable enough to go back. This salon seems like a "has been", like it used to be full of creative stylists but maybe they've all left.
Rude owner. I came into Carina Mia to get my hair colored. I was scheduled to see the owner so I figured this should be a good experience. She was 45 mintues late getting to me and was not aplogetic at all, she actually came across as quite arrogant. She took 2 and half hours to do my hair and then charged be double the amount that I have ever paid for hair. She was very rude when I questioned the price. I would never go back here, for this overpriced medi-ocre hair job.
