Tips for Joe's Crab Shack

August 03, 2012

Our last experience at this Joe's Crab Shack was...well, our last. From the time we came in the door until we got up and left, service was terrible. After waiting nearly an hour we did get up and leave - still no food but our waiter kept saying...."five more minutes....five more minutes". The restaurant was very dirty -- trash on the floor and left on tables. A true disappointment. Unfortunate that there are no other Joe's around our house so someone else will have our business.

First time = last time!. A major dissapointment. I've passed the restaurant countless times and finally decided to go tonight. Once seated, 5 minutes passed before the waiter came. Another 5 miinutes to get a glass of water. I asked for more time to read the menu. 10 minutes later he takes my order. I ordered the East Coast Platter. Well over 20 minutes later I got my food. Keep in mind that I arrived about 9:20 Friday night and it was not extremely busy. The fish portion was smalll and the crab stuffed shrimp and crab cake were warm, not hot. The "onion rings" were somewhat tasty and very greasy. It's a shame to spend almost $19.00 on a plate and it's of fair quality and not enough food to have left overs. Now to the atmosphere. When I arrived the music was at a moderate level, but a song came on that was suddenly CRANKED UP LOUD making it nearly impossible to read the menu. The music goes back to normal for a while, then a "house favorite" goes WIDE OPEN. As my titlte says "first visit = last visit." Don't waste your hard earned money there.

Blame the Chef and not the waiter.. I love seafood but was too disappointed to finish my dinner! Chef Elisajo you are on blast!

Saturday July 23, I ordered Sam Adams Steampot and I got a pot full of Old Bay seasoning. I really don't like sending back my food to the kitchen because I fear what the Chef may do. So I tried to wipe off the old bay off my clams with those oversized paper towels that are normally on the table. Soon I noticed that I was not given corn nor potatoes and my lobster tails were cold as if they were taken straight from the fridge to the steampot and not steamed.

That's my limit! I cannot pay for food I didnt get, so I kindly asked the waiter to return my food. She was very apologetic and took my food back to the kitchen. Approximately 16mins later my food came back to me. But this time, the lobster tails were overcooked and the chef put another 100 tablespoons of old bay seasoning. Seems like he was mad! The waiter returned to check on how I was progressing, and the truthful person I am, I told her it was oversalted AGAIN.

She expressed that she told the chef, and the chef was about ready to blame me that i had eaten the potatoes and the corn and sent back the steampot to him.

Too often, the waiters get blamed that the service was poor and the food was horrible. This time, the chef had an attitude and cooked with no sort of love and it showed in my steampot.

Management, I hope you are paying attention and ensure that the quality food that Elisajo is puttng out is up to your standards!

For you patrons, be sure that Elisajo has not oversalted your food that may eventually lead to hypertension!

Not happy first time customer. I took my husband and are daughter there for dinner on fathers day 2010. It took us a hour to get are food and then when my daughter bited itto her hamburger it as raw. By the time they bought her out a new one we were already leaving.

We have only been her for 3 months and that was a very bad vist for my family.

I am not sure if we will be going there again.

Less than desirable. Let's start with service was nice but that's where nice ends. My wife's rare steak was as dry as a bone. I don't know how you can have a rare steak with NO juices what-so-ever!!! I personally wouldn't eat it rare but I know it should have some juice to it. My crab stuffed shrimp were over cooked and tuff. Basically everything was over cooked.

This was my first visit and maybe my last. The sign out front said vacancy because my seat will always be open.

A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones.. In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

Incredible service, the food is fabulous and you'll never leave hungry! Try the lobster stuffed shrimp!!. Atmosphere is fun and inviting, the service staff is very friendly, service was incredible. And the food absolutely fabulous. Cooked to perfection and you'll never leave hungry!!! I recommend the lobster stuffed shrimp!!! We have been back several times and have always been very happy. The manager always stops by to ask how everything is. This restaurant is always consistent with EVERYTHING. If you've never been, you have to at least try it!!! We've never been disappointed!!

Too much food!!!. This is our favorite restaurant. Try the grilled harpoon with a side of crab legs! All of their meals are absolutely huge, and you'll have to take some home!
