Tips for Dermatology Center of Atlanta

December 29, 2010

Ain't a New Place to Try!. This was my first time to this place and my last. On December 29, 2010, I had a 10 am appointment and had to wait for about 35 minutes before they took me in. Just like someone mentioned on CitySearch, they will charged you $25 for no show. They booked way too many appointments one right after another.

In addition to that they tried to charge me 30% of the total service when I checked out. I told the lady (whose hair is highlighted, not the black hair lady) that I met my deductible. She said they verified my insurance and it said I had to pay 30%. I have Humana; Dermatology Center of Atlanta is in my network. My plan covers 100% as long as I stay in network. I found this place on Humana website. I went there to treat itchy skin on one of my leg; this has nothing to do with cosmetic. I would have to pay 30% of the total service IF they are not in my plan network. However, they are in my network. These people are just greedy!!!

Don't plan on your appoint time. First time going to this center and the last.

They have a VERY stringent late policy for patients about arriving 15 minutes early so that they can “pull charts” and that your appointment time is specific so that if you are late or miss appointment you will be charged, etc… They were 20 minutes late so I cancelled appointment… Reason was that they sometimes need to take extra time with other patients and that if it was me I would want them to spend the extra time…..

My response was that if is the case they should leave a little extra time between patients so that they can meet their appointment commitments…

The medical profession is the only industry that I know of that plans on overlapping “customers” so that they gain a high utilization and then charges customers that may be late or have to cancel…. They wonder why people do not feel “bad” for them….
