I would like to start off saying that I have always been a huge nordstrom fan! I have a mod card, spend thousands of dollars here a year...why? I love that Nordstrom seems to stand for good old fashion American customer service, which seems rare these days. In most of my experience they beleive in the genuine nature of people when it comes to returns, taking care of those of us who are honest and overlooking those that are not.
I wanted to note how much I love Nordstrom to point out just how absolutely HORRIBLE the Buford Mall of Georgia store is! I travel frequently for business so I had never been into this Nordstrom prior. I went in to return an item that I got from Nordstrom that I previously purchased as a gift for my grandmother. I went to the handbag dept where the women admitted she knew very little so she called the customer service desk for help, which was completely fine. As they are speaking on the phone the women says "yes, they have purchased here before". HOW RUDE! ARE YOU MAD?! As if I suppose I was trying to rip someone off. She then sends me to customer service.
15mins in the store and I am with a customer service representative, James Espinosa. Not only does he appear completely incompetent, hes not even friendly! As he fumbles around to try to return my purchase, he calls about 5 different people with no success. He finally calls a manager to assist.
The manager of "Savvy", Kristen Havriluk comes to find my purchase. While definitely looking the part I was excited to finally have someone educated to help, instead she comes to insult me.
She pretends to look for my bag, while treating me as if I am so sort of a criminal. I am still completely shocked and horrified by the way I was treated, I have had more positive experiences returning items in Wal-mart!!! She goes to the back to look my history up, which is what they had been doing for the past 45minutes. After she walks to the back a large male comes behind the register, who is very clearly their security. He pretends to adjust items and pick things up off the floor while he stares me down like fitting a profile description (height, weight, hair color). I have NEVER been so completely appalled in all my life!
Kristen with her fake sincerity and her determination to keep her stores income rather than return the item that I GOT FROM NORDSTROM has lost a customer for LIFE!!!! After 1.5hours I leave with the gift I had prior purchase. Not only did I truly get this bag from Nordstrom but as my return all I asked for was a giftcard. You can blatantly look at my return history and see that it is rare that I return anything. I spend quite a bit of my salary at Nordstrom when I could go to Saks or Macys or Belk. Never again after being treated in such a rediculous manner will I step foot in Nordstrom. I am completely disheartened by the level of service I recieved, just sad really.
