Guests can enjoy further hiking on the Appalachian Trail four-and-a-half miles away, as well as evening educational and entertainment programs in the Sunrise Room. An alternative to camping, this is a true wilderness experience.
The Details When you're trekking in, your backpack needs to only hold personal items--along with clothes, you may want to bring along a flashlight, water and snacks for hiking, sunscreen and insect repellant. As for the rest, such as linens and some toiletries, you'll find them in your room. Wood-burning stoves and heating panels keep you warm during winter months, while fans cool you down during hot weather. There are electrical outlets only in the bathhouse. Complimentary meals are served family-style and include hearty breakfasts and dinners.
