We won't be going back!.
I've lived in the neighborhood a couple of years and hadn't yet tried Bambinelli's. So, my adult son, his girlfriend and I decided to try it one evening.
The garlic rolls were pretty good, and our service was excellent. That's all.
My son had lasagna which was unrecognizable. It looked like a bowl of red mush. It was cold in the middle, and he had to mix it to be able to eat it. I had the fried ravioli and baked ziti. The ravioli was terrible, very greasy tasting. The ziti was so uninteresting that it was not good. My son's girlfriend had eggplant parmagiana. Her dish was so salty that she couldn't eat it.
When the waiter came to take our plates, my son's girlfriend expressed that she didn't like hers because it was too salty. He took our plates away.
When he brought the check, he hadn't charged for her dinner and mine. That was very nice. We didn't request that. He just did it on his own. We were so impressed that we thought perhaps we should try this restaurant another evening.
When the waiter returned, my son asked if this was an "off" night, if they had a new cook, or if it was always like this. The waiter replied that it was always like this.
As we were leaving, the man at the entrance mumbled something at us. When my son asked him what he said, he repeated, "Watch that sait intake." This was not a friendly remark, but a snide remark. Unbelievable!

Great family-run Italian place. I can't believe that we just recently discovered this place... When you're in the mood for some home-style Italian food, this is the place to go. Portions are huge and the food is so flavorful (the meatballs are the best I've ever had). It's clear that the kitchen takes pride in every dish. Wait staff is friendly and attentive and the owner is always there making sure that everything is running smoothly.
Great Garlic Fix!!. The food at Bambinelli's is always GREAT!! Even on nights when they are busy the owner, Bonnie has an uncanny ability to keep track of the order of her patrons on her mental waiting list! :) It's a home cooked Italian meal. The salmon alfredo was unbelievable and the spaghetti & meatballs were fantastic too! The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Bonnie has even added flat screen/HD TV's to accomodate avid sports fans! Her staff is incredible and hospitable! We'll be back for our next garlic fix soon!
One of Atlanta's best!. Bambinelli's is without a doubt one of the best, if not THE best neighborhood Italian restaurants in Atlanta. I have been dining at Bambinelli's for more than 15 years and have never had a bad experience. The pizza is just about the best anywhere and the pasta dishes are wonderful and varied. I brought very picky friends from Philly to eat there recently and they agreed it was about the best Italian they had had. I lived in Italy for 2 summers and Bambinelli's is very reminiscent of an authentic (not Americanized) Italian dining experience. Bonnie Bambinelli, the owner and hostess, is most gracious and keeps such close tabs on folks coming in that she doesn't even need to write down a waiting list! She has often gone out of her way to make sure that diners are well served and happy. Bambinelli's is usually full, which speaks to its popularity among regulars and first-time diners as well. I would give Bambinelli's my highest recommendation, if you want a fantastic neighborhood Italian restaurant, and the special attention that only Bonnie Bambinelli can give!
Great, Authentic New York Italian Food at a Great Price!. My family & I have found a new favorite for great Italian food in Atlanta. While my teenagers love the New York style pizza with very fresh toppings and tangy sauce, my wife and I particularly like the Parmesians...she loves the eggplant and mine is the veal. This restaurant has been open for a quarter of a century, a true testament to the personable proprietor (Bonnie), the quality of the food, the affordability of the dining experiance, and the friendliness of the servers! I can't wait for the spring weather to sit on the patio and enjoy the best of New York right here in Atlanta.
The Worst "Italian" Restaurant, or Any Type of Restaurant, I've Ever Been to. My first impression of Bambinelli's proved to be accurate. I thought that it would be a horrible experience from the beginning just because of the owner/hostess's inhospitable manner and rudeness when we walked in. She hurriedly shooed us against the wall to wait without taking our names or even greeting us. Servers then proceeded to practically run over us as they were running from table to table, even coming through the lobby. When we were finally seated, we had to take silverware off of another table. The ambiance is absolutely dreadful, from the fake bricks on the walls to the plastic "wooden" tables and dull silverware comparable to that of an elementary school cafeteria. Our server seemed nice enough, but he was awfully slow, as he was somehow busy with a million other tables (their first times too I'm guessing). The food was pricey for such low quality; I had the salmon over linguine alfredo, which tasted like cat food. I'm guessing the salmon was frozen and the sauce was made from a Lipton packet. Anyway, upon leaving, the hostess/owner/whatever didn't even thank us for coming or say goodbye. All in all, it was a horrible experience. The only reason that people actually frequent this place is because there's no other Italian for miles, so what do they have to compete with? Next time I want Italian, I'll head over to Nino's or Alfredo's on Cheshire Bridge Rd instead of settling for this dingy little joint.
Great family-owned Italian restaurant, great customer service. This place is a great family restaurant. Bonnie the owner is always sitting at the counter by the front door and makes you feel very welcomed. The food is very good. The garlic knots are amazing. Other great things we've ordered are chicken parm and chicken marsala. The Greek salad is also recommended. Definitely one of the nicest restaurants in the Northlake area.
The garlic rolls are amazing!. Bambinelli's is a family owned and operated little Italian place. It's noisy and there are usually lots of kids. The food can be a bit uneven. I've had some things that were disappointingly bland but the veggie or meat lasagna are always good. My friend always gets an eggplant dish that isn't on the menu right now but they make it for her and she loves it. And then there are the garlic rolls....always hot and dripping in garlic butter! Yum! We'll keep going back.
