“Good Docs- terrible office staff”
Worse place ever. I paid $150 every 3 months for my son to see a doctor. Last visit, we got results back from an MRI and we actually saw a doctor. We got charged an extra $50. My insurance company is disputing because the doctor claims he made a new diagnosis. Which is not true. Today they refused to see my son over $50. Seriously? I immediately signed a release of my son's medical records and will never go back
Rude and Uncaring Staff. The only reason there is a star showing is I couldn't seem to erase it. After two ambulance trips to hospital and seeing doctor at Scottish Rite, our family contacted the office a total of six times for follow up appointment, to no avail, finally soliciting the help of our pediatrician for an appointment. Today, a family member picked up child up from school, met mother at work, who proceeded to doctor's office - over 90 miles. They were told she was 20 min late (not appointment time we had) and could not be seen. This is the first appointment since the hospital admission and we feel it was very important. I cannot believe this attitude when we are talking about a child. We will find another doctor.
Child Neurology Associates. We have been a patient at Child Neurology Associates for over a year. We learned my child may have a attention deficit disorder from another doctor after a brief evaluation. Very frustrating especially given the fact that the website states the practice treats attention disorders. We have also waited an hour for an appointment. Calls are not always returned in a timely manner. I also had a bad experience with a very difficult medical assistant. Even our pediatrician has complained about the practice. When dealing with a child's health issues you shouldn't have to put up with a doctor's office that is difficult to work with.
Great doc, great staff. For anyone who is considering taking your child to this practice, I advise checking this place out for yourself and not just listening to the negative reviews. I recently took my son to this practice given his speech delay and was pleased with not only the office staff, but also Dr. Zurbrugg as well as the office environment. Upon arrival to the office, it took only minutes to be seen by the doctor (I completed the necessary paperwork beforehand and simply submitted to the front desk person). Once seen by the doctor, the appt went well and my son (who doesn't warm up easily to people he doesn't know) was at ease and very responsive to the doctor. An overall very good visit!
Wish I researched first before wasting my time. I took my daughter to this practice due to having seizures and I wish I never bothered. First, it was a 2 hour drive which I left 3 hours early for. It was raining very badly and 2 accidents made me end up being 15 minutes late. The doctor refused to see me (so the nurse says)..I do not understand since it's an hour consultation appointment and I came so far. So I went ahead and filled out all paperwork and was assured they would scan and be ready for next appointment. A month later, I came back and they had no records, so I had to sit in the lobby with an irritated sick child, REFILLING out this massive paperwork I already filled out. The appointment with the doctor was fine, but after a month no one called me back to schedule the EEG as he said they would within a few days. I called myself and the lady scheduled, but told me I need to make sure my child who is hyper-active needs to be sleepy at 11am. Are you kidding me ? I left several messages over the next couple of weeks (always get a voicemail as if I am trying to get in touch with the President of the USA) and still no phone callback until I left a very irate comment of the treatment. The staff has always been rude. These people are the front lines when dealing with sick kids who parents are already under enough stress trying to get them well. They need to learn compassion and patience. Even if they don't have an answer, they can call and follow up to let us know they are working on it and have not forgotten us instead of letting months go by with no word. So I dropped this office and found a new pediatric clinic where I feel very much taken care of and my daughter is in good hands. They are not rude, they listen, ask questions, give me the facts and are most of all compassionate. The doctor was eager to get the EEG and many other tests going to find out how we can control my daughter's seizures. The doctor also adjusted my child's meds because the dosage she is on was way too low for her age and weight (probably why her seizures were not being stopped). I wonder when CNA have their interviews, if they show this nasty personality they displayed towards me ? Sad , if they got hired anyway. I suggest they offer some sort of people skills training especially when dealing with sick children and their desperate parents who look up to them for help. I would never recommend this office until they change how they operate to heal instead of just a paycheck and insurance number. My spouse and I both work and have plenty of coverage so that was never an issue.
Did my research, had a great result.
A speaker at a conference I went to recommended I take my son to a neurologist for tics he experiences. I looked through the providers covered under my insurance, read the professional resume of several of the associates, and visited their website before calling to make an appointment.
My daughter now needs to be evaluated for another condition. I rechecked with my insurance carrier to ensure Child Neurology Associates is a covered provider- they are and I am now on hold waiting to get her an appointment.
When I visited the office, I was impressed with the support services offered. This is not a "thanks for coming, make an appointment for your next visit, don't call us we'll call you" place.
I understand that other reviewers were frustrated because of coverage, or lack there of, but that has nothing to do with the doctors, but the insurer. I had an MRI done elsewhere and knew that I would have to meet my deductible before coverage would be provided according to the conditions of my insurer. I had done my research about my coverage and always recommend others do the same.
HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I was referred here by our pediatrician for my daughter's constant headaches, which have brought her to the ER. The afternoon BEFORE our first appointment, I received a call telling me that even though I had insurance, they expected me to pay almost $350.00 up front, as our deductible had not been met for the year. I have NEVER had to pay this before a medical practice submitted their bill to my insurance for review. I told this to them & requested a supervisor. Left a message & still haven't received a call back 1 hour before they close. DO NOT go to thispractice unless you are independently wealthy & have the cash up front. Hell of a way to run a medical practice. I'll be sure to complain loudly wherever I can.
Pediatric Neurologists - Miserable Experience. My child is a patient of this medical group and we've been attempting to work with this practice. The physicians' performance ranged from very good (particularly in the hospital) to poor. They provided no guidance whatsoever as to how we should manage my child's new and extremely serious condition. Lifesaving medication that my child should be given in an emergency was never even even mentioned. We were given a prescription only when we asked for it after seeking information on our own. The office staff is beyond rude...and worse. Good luck getting a phone call returned. Impossible to get good care from this practice.
Pediatric Neurologists. After too many bad experiences here, I have ended my patient relationship with them. I was given an appointment with an MD who was leaving that week- her appts were to have been blocked, phone calls are not returned, you NEVER get to speak to a doctor, the Nurse Practicioner is rude and has an attitude, the staff is very unfriendly, the office is dumpy and dirty. I saw one doctor (the one who was leaving the practice- good for her), the rest of my contacts/appts were with PA's and NP's. No thanks. Go across the street to Emory Pediatric Neuro's.
They have been great.
We have seen Dr. Schub and Nurse Practitioner Teta, and they have both been great with our son.
Whenever we have called we have received a return call fairly quickly.
They will not file medicaid for patients, but they will give you the paperwork to file it on your own.
