What People Are Saying About Food 101

The Scene – Anchoring one end of a Roswell Road shopping strip, Food 101 marries hearty, homegrown cuisine with black-clad corporate efficiency. Decor similarly merges past and present: The open, window-lined dining room and long, inviting bar gives off a '20s-meets-2000s vibe. The retro-tinged space is filled with buttery leather banquettes and decorated with warm hues and dark woods. Service is confident and friendly. – – The Food – Navigate the back-to-basics menu carefully and there's a good meal to be had here. Rich, creamy mashed potatoes and butternut squash…

Great Job!

really like Food 101 but I just feel that their menu is somewhat limited. To be honest I am a very picky eater though so that might have something to do with it. Other than that I think they are great!
Customer Service - Thumbs Down
by nolesfan at Citysearch
I wish I could say that I had the opportunity to go in and try the farm to table concept going on at Food 101. I was given a couple of gift cards by my sister and did not realize they had an expiration until I went to make a reservation. I called and asked if I could get at least a portion of them honored, since they did cost money. I was given a harsh and flat out no. From a customer service perspective, this is a terrible way to do business. They essentially just took the money and ran! Too many places to grab a bite in the metro area to treat potential customers with such poor service.
This is why I keep going back

I hadn't been to Food 101 in a while, but I had a craving for those tuna tostadas and went over there for dinner. The tuna, I think one of the best appetizers in Atlanta, we spot on. Then I had this amazing duck breast. Then, the bannana/white chocolate bread pudding! It was so good that I went past my full stomach to finish it. Not to mention the awesome Pinot Noir that the server recommended that complimented everything I was going for. This place is great, and I will start going more frequently now because you really miss that kind of quality.
Worst Sunday Lunch in a while
by Gourmand1234 at Citysearch
You know it's not going well if your first order, a drink, takes 15 minutes to arrive , if a burger takes 45 minutes, an ice tea 15 minutes plus a reminder and an assigned waiter who would be better at servicing machinery than customers.
If at least the food was great, but it is average at best, small crabcakes with mayo (not remoulade as per menu), hastily heated spinach, partly burned, poached eggs hard inside and served with dry toast without butter ("we always serve toast without butter").
Yes, the service was incredibly SLOW and INCOMPETENT. May others enjoy it - not the gourmand!
Best Dining Experience in a Long Time
by restaurantjunkie2 at Citysearch
I have been meaning to get to this restaurant for a while and just dined there this weekend with my husband. It was by far the best meal I've had in Atlanta in a LONG time! I loved everything ... the service was incredible and the food was unbelievable. I had the Tuna Tostada and the Pumpkin Ravioli and my husband ordered the Pork Belly Appetizer and the Short Ribs and he virtually licked his plate! I will not wait so long to visit again!
