What is TAXCO..! Buckhead and Atlanta's Most Popular Delicious Mexican Haute..! I have been enjoying coming here since 1984..I brought my friend to TAXCO for a special Father's Day Lunch & he was impressed and amazed at how friendly and accommadating everyone was when we walked in and he said the cheese dip and burrritos were by far the best in Atlanta..TAXCO definitely has the best Chile Relenos being they come served up with a generous portion of shredded cheese on top..Baked to a sizzling perfection..I don't know of any place else in Atlanta that prepares their Chile Releno's with baked cheese on top! Got to try it..! Fast service, Excellent Delicious Food in a very friendly "like at home" atmosphere..! Everyone Makes You Feel SPECIAL at TAXCO..!

Great, cheap mexican food!. This is our go to mexican spot! My wife and i go there on a regular basis. The food is excellent and the prices can't be beat. We also get it to go a lot as the atmosphere does leave something to be desired. All in all, two thumbs up!

Inexpensive and delicious. Great spot for some cheap mexican food and good drinks. The menu has all the basics and the service is super fast. The place can get overcrowded on the weekends - but the week days are fine.

Below Average Cheap Mexican Place. I had been to this place two times in over a year. The first time I had the Carne Asada, the Carne was kind of hard. The beans were good. The second time It was simply terrible. I had the Burrito and Taco Special with Refried Beans. Service is fast but not very friendly. Even though, sign states AUTHENTIC MEXICAN Restaurant. I dont know how they claim this. Hard shell-ed tacos do not really exist in mexico, and a burrito with red sauce on top really seemed like some kind of flauta to me or enchilada, neither tasted authentic. The CHEESE DIP which is the best in Atlanta really tastes like Sour Cream out of Publix. Avoid this place and go to Norcross and look for real mexican food there instead.

Fresh Mexican food for chipotle adventurers and cheese-dip traditionalists.. The Scene
Buckhead soccer families, end-of-day professionals and longtime locals park their SUVs at Taxco for legendary cheese dip and swimming pool-sized margaritas. Service can be curt, but the tone runs to brisk rather than rude. The cave-like wood-paneled interior is dark, and noise levels can approach deafening. Unless it's winter, park it on the patio.

The Food
Extra touches, like chicken stewed with onions and tomatoes, make burritos and corn-tortilla enchiladas better than average. Made-to-order house specialties also transcend the tired standards; try chile colorado and chipotle-spiked chicken with potatoes. Shrimp a la diavola is especially addictive: Grilled shrimp and onions wrapped in tortillas with guacamole leave you wanting more, even as the spicey heat grows atomic. Order that second margarita just to cool off. Chips and salsa are fantastic, but don't skip the cheese dip. It's among the best in town.
