Horseradish Grill is Atlanta's oldest continuously operating restaurant. It is a culinary tradition based on seasonal freshness, ethnic diversity, and simply prepared, highly flavorful food. We embrace the philosophy that there is an immediacy to good food and cooking; that there is value in understanding the connection between a region, its history and its people, the seasons and natural rhythm of life. The Main Dining Room gives a cozy and intimate feel near the fireplace, while the Garden Room is the perfect spot for your bridal luncheon, holiday party or business meeting. The outside patio provides what has been voted as the most beautiful and romantic dining area in Atlanta. …
Horseradish Grill has been around forever and is a great choice for al fresco dining or before a show at Chastain Park. Their refined southern cooking always hits the spot and they consistently have one of the best shrimp and grits plates in the city.
Best lunch in town -. great folks - steve is back - best bbq you can get with cushioned seats! great wines - too! i will be back for dinner soon!
This is a "must try" restaurant!!!!.
One must simply try this restaurant. Service from attractive waiters, great food and very reasonable prices. What more could a girl ask for?! How about some soft buttermilk biscuits as bread for the table. The servings are big! A little noisey at lunch time but a great place I am sure in the evening for a romantic date. Beautiful wood interior with provides one of a warm dining experience.
A slight "con" occured but still it was not enough to dim my enthusiasm. I was with a big group so it took a little while for our meals to come but they were worth the wait. I am definitely going back and so are many of my co-workers. In fact one of my team mates is one the phone now telling her daughter all about it!!!! Please put this on your "must try" soon list. You won't be sorry.
Total disaster, but still will go back someday. Seated right away, our waiter was excellent. So far, so good right? Wrong! We ordered our meals and bottle of wine. Waiter came back and told my husband that his fish entree & wine ordered are not available. He joins me in ordering tuna - rare. Mine came out cooked perfectly. His was WELL DONE. He sent it back, again the waiter is apologetic. The manager now comes to the table profusely apologetic stating they are now out of tuna. In anger, I stated that our meal was officially ruined and we would SHARE my entree. Our waiter couldn't have been nicerand more professional. Moral of this story- they were so gracious, the food was good.Stuff happens. This night it happened ALL to us. Our entire tab was comped . I would give it another try merely because they went out of their way to be accomodating under bad circumstances.
Must try!. I have had some of my best Atlanta dining experiences here! I have attended a company party at this restaurant, celebrated a friend's b-day at this restaurant, and was taken on a date there, as well. All were fantastic experiences! The staff was very accomodating and friendly. The food was wonderful. I highly recommend the venison. The spice cake was incredible! I did make the mistake of going here on the same night as a Chastain concert. It was very crowded and we were seated late, so if you go in the summer, make sure it's not on the same night as a Chastain concert or wait and go after the show starts.
Wow!. I love Horseradish Grill! The ambience is very warm and cozy. Our server was very attentive and right on time! The food was excellent. This is one of my "top 5" faves of Atlanta. Try the pecan crusted goat cheese salad and the filet. It was cooked to perfection! The trout and the honey fried quail are awesome, too. I've eaten here on a date and attended a company party here. Both were a perfect 10!
Consistently good food and service. One of Atlanta's best restaurants, combining a rustic atmosphere with a touch of elegance, consistently good food and service. We have never been disappointed here.
Worst Service in Atlanta. This was the worst service I've had in Atlanta. They brought my entree out while I was in the middle of my salad, and never asked if we wanted dessert. Very disappointing.
Upscale Southern fare served in a rehabbed horse stable keeps the country-club set satisfied..
The Scene
Located on the edge of Chastain Park, the restaurant is full of rustic charm. A peaked roof and exposed timbers make the dining room feel distinctly barn-like, but oversized booths, a working fireplace, warm lighting and Oriental rugs give the space cozy appeal. Expect to dine with older couples, families and groups of middle-aged ladies enjoying a girls' night out. Service is friendly, deferential and unobtrusive.
The Food
Solid renditions of classics like skillet-fried chicken make for a satisfying meal. A fried oyster appetizer is heavy with cornmeal breading, but the green salad gets a nice kick from spiced pecans and tangy vinaigrette. Grilled items, like lamb chops and beef tenderloin, are reliable standbys. The standout entree is a fillet of grouper, seared crispy on the outside and swimming in a buttery sauce with fresh peas and leeks. Finish off with a slice of lemon chess pie.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASST. MY EXPERIENCE AT THE HORSERADISH GRILL WAS WONDERFUL! I TOOK MY DAUGHTER THERE FOR HER 21ST BIRTHDAY AND WE ALSO SPENT THE NIGHT AT THE RITZ CARLTON. THE HORSERADISH GRILL WAS WONDERFUL! OUR FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND THE SERVICE GOOD. THIS IS DEFINITELY A PLACE TO BE VISITED BY EVERYONE WHO LOVES FINE DINING AND I DO MEAN "FINE DINING". I CALL IT "FINE DINING" BUT AT THE SAME TIME, IT IS NOT PRETENTIOUS. IN OTHER WORDS, THE FOOD IS NOT "TOO PRETTY TO EAT"! IT IS PRACTICAL. A BIT PRICEY BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I WILL DEFINITELY DINE THERE AGAIN. NEXT TIME, I PLAY TO TRY THE WINE LIST!
Horseradish Grill. We had a rather disappointing dining experience at the Horseradish Grill. Everything was very mediocre. The food was bland and tough, the service (I think our server was about thirteen years old) was terrible, and management seemed dazed. I expected much more considering the sizable bill. Atlanta has so many wonderful restaurantsput this one last on the list.
