Great food, even better hospitality. A classic. Been around for years, with good reason. Delicious food & beverages and very friendly service. A fairly standard menu but they do it right.

Lunch Place. A quirky little Mexican restaurant located along side Buford Hwy in Doraville. The inside houses a small bar tucked away in the back corner with the remaining floor space is occupied by square tables situated between ceiling columns and rectangular booths along the walls. There is an enclosed patio available for outside seating which is perfect in the warm weather. Although Buford Hwy run along in front, the constant hum of the traffic does not detract from the patio ambiance. The food is Americanized “authentic” Mexican which tastes better than most chain Mexican restaurants. The menu contains what one would expect from a Mexican restaurant, with vegetarian selections available. The house margaritas are strong, the salsa is tangy, and the meals flavorful! The service is quick which makes this location a must for lunches! Perfect for families, business lunches, or a romantic evening out on the town. Stop by Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant today and discover pure satisfaction!

Quirky chain pleases with cheap, heaping helpings of Tex-Mex favorites.. The Scene
Monterrey is the kind of place you'd take the kids after a Sunday soccer game, or end up on a Tuesday night when you can't bear to cook. With hodgepodge decor, it feels more like a mom-and-pop joint than the successful restaurant chain it is. Most servers speak only Spanish, but pointing will get the job done--and the food arrives quicker than at some fast-food restaurants.

The Food
Hungry-man-sized combos, monster margaritas, 32-ounce beers, cheese-laden enchiladas: it's all slightly nauseating, oh-so-fattening and one of the cheapest meals in town. Fajitas, the restaurant's highlight, come with tender marinated meats--everything from beef to shrimp--and are large enough to share. Couples with big appetites avoid fighting over the last tortilla by ordering the two-person fajita dinner. If that's not enough food, jazz up the complimentary chips with a glutinous, gluttonous bowl of jalapeno-dotted cheese dip.

TexMex at its best. Pretty close to basic San Antonio. The food has been good to very good every time. Plus: Staff is very friendly. The place is exceptionally clean and bright. Very laid back and kid friendly.
