The Scene – A modest presence amid the check-cashing stands, herbalists, and western-wear outlets of Buford Highway, this smallish storefront is a popular draw both with locals and intown foodies. Inside, the decor runs to the bizarre (black lacquer, hypothermia mauve), but it's a comfortable place all the same. – – The Food – Widely considered one of the city's better Chinese restaurants, this cafe's easygoing approach to cuisine makes intimidating dishes appealing and familiar dishes exceptional. Small dishes of spicy soybean sprouts and chunks of pickled radish…

Don't waste your money
by Doeymeister
Hands down, the worst meal we've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. We've eaten here before and, while not the best, wasn't anything close to our meal tonight. Fried pot stickers were undercooked, greasy, and absolutely disgusting - we each had one and left the rest on the platter. Egg Rolls were only edible because we dipped them in hot mustard. Mongolian Beef was absolutely tasteless and the General Tso's Chicken only marginally better. We started laughing when the waitress asked if we wanted our leftovers (which were substantial) boxed to go. The best part was when she wanted us to pay cash because we'd used a coupon. What? When I told her I had no cash, she turned to my wife and asked "How 'bout you?"
I now see why this restaurant is showing up on all the deal sites.. They are dying a slow death because their food is so bad.
Outstanding and authentic Chinese restaurant
by CSK321
I visited this restaurant last week and found it to be outstanding. The food is very good and, I beleive much more authentic than many Chinese places in the U.S. The prices were reasonable and all three dishes we tried were really good - in particular the stir fried string beans.
The staff were attentive and the owner stopped by mid-way through the meal to check on us and chat. He strikes me as the kind of owner that, if you have a problem, wants you to call him over and he will try and fix it. But, in our case, there were no problems.
I would recommend this place to everyone and would take client/colleagues as well as friends and family myself.

A few years ago, this place was okay and the food was good. Now...the front door looks like it has never been cleaned with windex. The floors are disgusting, the tables were sticky and the bathrooms were the worst I have ever seen in Atlanta (including bars). The service was just as bad. Three women with no idea of how to service customers. We waited 10 minutes before we flagged someone down for menus. The only thing that was good was the soup. The fried tofu was over fried and the house fried rice was mushy with too much soy sauce. We also ordered some chicken and ginger dish. We will never go there again. I tried to give no stars, but the system forced me to give at least one.
- Pros: the soup
- Cons: This is one of the dirtiest restaurants in Atlanta
BEST CHINESE IN ATL!!
by craving4food
This has to be the best chinese food in ATL. I've tried many other restaurants, but this is hands down my favorite. The ingredients are fresh and they have generous portion sizes. The food definitely stands out among all of the generic chinese places! The atmosphere is a little "80's retro" with pink and black decor, however you hardly notice this once you eat the food. The last time we dined here it was packed....and there was a long line of people waiting to sit down, which says a lot since there are so many other food choices in ATL. When the majority of the people dining at a chinese restaurant are actually chinese, this tells you that it MUST be good and authentic!!!
- Pros: Food, Service, Portion sizes, Quality and freshness
- Cons: Ambience is 80's retro
