The Scene
The granddad of this modest Atlanta taco chain doesn't look like much, with its weather-beaten roof and peeling green paint. But the freestanding building produces some of the city's most authentic Mexican food. Getting it to go makes sense, as seating consists of a few barstools inside and some dilapidated picnic tables outside. The Spanish- and sometimes English-speaking staff is polite and professional.
The Food
Tacos and burritos--made with hefty fillings and perfectly grilled flour tortillas--are the backbone of the menu. The chicken taco is a velvety soft shell stuffed with tender chunks of meat and a hint of salsa verde. The chile relleno taco is even better, a breaded poblano oozing with melted cheese. Burritos are for the famished; charbroiled steak is a whopping helping of chopped quality meat flavored with onions and pepper. Chips are thick and crunchy, almost bread-like. Finish with arroz con leche, a simple rice pudding sprinkled with cinnamon and raisins.

This small Mex. restaurant is superb. The food is tasty, prepared quickly, served immediately, excellent value, variety. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak burrito...when the girls aren't taking orders, ringing cash register, they sing!!! McDonald's, eat your heart out!

Small menu, but plenty of choices. Torta's are GREAT, taco's too, but try the steak nacho's and you'll fall in love with this place. It's all fresh cooked, you can watch them carve the avocado right into your Torta or onto you nacho's.
