“wouldn't come back to this place after my bad experience.”
them beeeeeches are hustlers!.
My friend went to get his hair cut; because he was around the place. It was the only haircut place around, he said.
He told me he didn't want to take another 1 or 2 hours to drive to his original barbershop. So he took a risk and went to star. The risk was not worth it! he said.
I knew how bad star was, but did not tell my friend about it. He regret going and said he'll ask me about any haircut place before going.
He had said the place was dirty; that they didn't sweep the floors and had all sorts of stains. It didn't quite feel like home. He wasn't really worried about the atmosphere even though the place was dirty as hell!
he had to wait about an hour for a haircut and was impatient. Saying that he should of just drove to his hair stylist.
After the wait he finally got a seat, the person that cut his hair was canto, he says. He also told me there was another unhappy customer who was pissed because one of the girl hair-stylists gave her a haircut she didn't want.
Well, after my friend choose his hairstyle he told me the barber keep hurting him with the scissor; that he keep cutting his scalp. When he had asked him to stop, the barber acted like he wasn't listening. The haircut came out bad, and he didn't even give him a wash for his hair and told him to pay. They even told him it was $31 for his haircut and massage, when he didn't even get ask for a massage! The place was horrible! He told me.
Why Do I Even Bother??!?.
I heard from a friend of mine that took wedding pictures there that they were really good. That was back in 2002. My friends told me that the photographer's name was Kevin and the make-up artist was Lin. When I got there, there was no Kevin or Lin. There was just a few amateurs. I was tricked into thinking they take professional quality photos. I can't even remember this photographer's name. He is that bad. This guy can try but I doubt he will even get anywhere.
I soon found out that Kevin and Lin opened their own studio not far from this dump.
GO TO FASHION TAIPEI STUDIO IF YOU WANT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER WITH 25+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE!
I don't know about the hair salon, because I've never bothered to get a hair cut there when there are plenty of other choices around Chamblee.
THE WORST PLACE FOR HAIRCUTS AND PHOTOGRAPHY!!.
So I went there because I saw the reviews; everyone of them were really good. Talking about how good Ben was on his photography, and how everyone there was nice and really friendly. LET ME TELL YOU IT'S ALL BULLSHIT!
I went there to get a haircut and I waited 4 hours just to get a seat. I complained and one of the hairstylists said that quote " What do you expect me to do? Mess up the other customer's hair just to cut your hair?!" I was a bit shocked because I have never heard anyone say that kind of thing to a customer. Okay, so I waited 4 hours, I wasn't that mad about that. But when I was looking at the style magazines; and told my hairstylist Maria to do the hair I wanted. I understood a little bit of Chinese, and I heard the other hairstylists laughing at me and calling my names saying that Americans don't have any style. I was pissed so I just left the store. One of the worst experiences of my life.
My friend also told me about his photographs from the Star studio. He said the guy, was very unprofessional, and the quality was very bad, that he didn't know how to take the photos that would "catch the moment" They even paid from around 6k for bad quality photos? Why waste your time with this place? The photographer has like 2 days experience and can barley joke around. I saw him the day before at showcase learning about how to take photos. Don't even go there for anything. TRUST ME
Star is a Gem in Atlanta.
Ben at Star Studio truly is a gem. Not only is he knowledgeable and experienced, he won't judge your old style/cut or your decisions. Instead, he'll take what you have and run with it. He is extremely fast and highly skilled without lacking quality. I got a 6-inch faux hawk from this man and he made it possible with what was left of my chemically-processed damaged hair.
The hair stylists all have their own artistic sense and are very versatile with styles whether it be up and coming trends or the old beehives of the 60s. The studio is colorfully chic in turquoise and black with vintage red styling chairs. Be sure to try the shampoo treatment, the girl who does it goes to work massaging your neck, temples, and scalp for nearly 30 minutes! It's all too hard to believe when the price of a haircut bases at $12-20.
Run to Star and it is guaranteed as the one place where you won't get nasty judgmental looks or people talking behind your back, even though the stylists are Chinese/Cantonese.
Awesome photography & make-up. They have done my makeup for a figure competition and it was absolutely wonderful. They have also taken great studio pictures for me and the whole package was very professional. Kevin was the photographer I used back then and I'm not sure if he's there anymore. I'm planning to go back there soon for a studio session. He definitely has an eye for photography. You'll be extremely happy with their work.
If you are an Asian, here is the place for your photos. They did my make-up wonderfully for my cousin's wedding and I couldn't ask for anything else that looks better. Then i went for a second time for my elegant 18th birthday for studio pictures. they don't just do weddings, but simple studio pictures that came out beautifully; later in my older years I can should my children or grandchildren that is how their grandma or mother looked back in her days. I recommend this area for anyone who is interested in taking wedding pictures or just personal studio pictures in general. They take their job seriously and will let you pick out which ever one you like.
Bad Service. Bad cuts. Bad Overall.
I wouldn't come back to this place after my bad experience. If you get Maria, ask to get another person because she won't style your hair the way you ask to. She'll do it the way she want's, charge for services you didn't ask for, and style it ugly.
