What the former employee say about Oriental at Vinings – I was a former cashier. Manager Wendy never let me have my tips. Everyday Wendy told me "You don't worth the money I paid you." Wendy always use hateful eye look at me when she talk like that.Wendy don't let me have any break, she always complain I am not move fast enough.Wendy think I eat too slow. I have to go hungry a lot times when I work.I work 13 hours a day, 6 days a week. No overtime pay. Wendy pay me $1800 a month.I commit a suicid after working for 28 days. I didn't get my full monthly salary.I didn't die, I stayed in hospital for almost a year. The doctor said I am permanently disabled. I have to take medcine all my life.
Now Closed Down – Hi, it would appear that the restaurant has now closed down. I'm not sure why, but it was really one of the better Chinese restaurants around. It was both convenient and fast. I will miss them. 11/24/08.
Best chinese in Vinings – Food is Wonderful, I am always satisfied when I eat there and a really cute/romantic setting. Prices are a little high but the food is worth the money.
Great for lunch – The service is always good and fast during the lunch rush. The portions are big for a little price. Very good all around.
Others are confused!! – The Orient at Vinings is in a small strip next to Canoe, despite what the other reviewers say. (They are thinking of the Orient Express, which is in a railroad car and is split between a sushi bar and traditional Chinese.) The food at the REAL Orient at Vinings is great Chinese, some of the best in the area, and definitely better than the Orient Express.
Quality on the Express – The sushi bar was hand-built by Sifu Jason Lau, the Grandmaster of Wing Chun, the Chinese Martial Art. The ambiance is beautiful in a traditional Chinese style, and the food is exceptional. Additionally, the price is right, especially for the quantity and quality of the food and service. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Luckily for us, Sifu Lau put the same dedication into his restaurant as he does into his instruction.
