vinnings inn. my anniversary is february 14 and this is sopposed to be a secret. I was just wondering should i go to the restraunt?
Best fun on Saturday nights. The Attic Bar is the place to be when Jeff Hix is playing. The band is the perfect backdrop to a great time. The atmosphere is relaxed, the people are nice, and I have always loved going there.
Vining's Inn is BACK!!!!. A fading icon in the Vining's community has reemerged brighter than ever. Over the past few years we have tried to dine here but were constantly dissapointed. The "Fish House" menu that was always over sauced did not fit the charm of this quaint building. The dining service was good but the bar staff was beyond unpleasant and frankly inappropriate. We had written off the restaurant until we heard that it had changed ownership. We gave it another chance and it is now our "Go to place". The entire staff has a cordial southern charm that was lacking before. Our recommendations from the new menu are the Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Encrusted Fried Green Tomatoes, the Roasted Beet Salad & the Horseradish Encrusted Salmon. They also have a great bar menu and the live music is fantastic. The Vining's Inn is BACK!!!
Fabulous Southern Cuisine, Great Bar Scene,. What an amazing and fantastic expirience I had last night! I have been going to The Vining's Inn off and on now for years and let me tell you that what is going on there now is nothing short of fantastic! The new menu there is exactly what I feel exemplifies that building, traditional Southern Cuisine and some Low Country influences. In the past I have had average food but now I am blown away by the enthusiasm of the new chef and the fervor of the staff. The Carmelized Onion and Goat Cheese Encrusted Fried Green Tomatoes were to die for! The Oyster Vic-a-feller's were beautiful and delicios. I wanted to look at them AND eat them. Bravo to what is taking place at this wonderful location. I will be there often to try each and everything on that menu.
What a great place in Vinings!. It has been more than 1 year since I have been to the Vinings Inn. Last time was in Spring 2006. My wife and I then had a bad time and experience that we decided not to go back. This week we were driving in Vinings and we were encouraged by the lively activity there that we decided to try it. We had a great dinner. The menu was recently changed to a southern upscale cuisine. The sea bass was to die for. The staff was very cordial and helpful. One great observation my wife made was how clean the place have become. We heard music and signing coming from the upstairs bar. We decided to check it out. Little did we know that we stayed until after 1 am and we had the time of our life. This jewel in Vinings seems to be coming back strong and great. I usually don't make recommendations but honestly, you must try it.
Not so friendly bar staff. This used to be the place to go any day of the week, now I wouldn't go once a year! I stopped by last week and found out the place had been sold and they had fired the entire bar staff! That was their first mistake as the old bartenders and cocktail waitresses were super friendly and made you feel like you were in your own living room hanging out with friends! I decided to give it a try any way and boy am I sorry I wasted my time. I had to send my martini back as it was awful and the unfriendliness of the staff was just ridiculous. The few people I knew there were all standing around trying to see if anyone knew where the old staff went. We won't be coming back here and I'd advise anyone to go somewhere else!
Wonderful Experience!. My husband and I are frequent diners in Atlanta and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised at the ambience, service, and gastronomic menu at the Old Vinings Inn. Mimosas will serve as a complement to their fresh salads, crabcakes and shrimp po'boys. We'll definitely have "dinner" in the near future.
Great customer service, terrible food.. Our experience at The Old Vinings Inn was just "okay". Our server was excellent. The food and wine list, however, were seriously lacking. We had the stuffed trout & lamb and both were flavorless. Atlanta really has some incredible restaurants - go somewhere else! The restaurant should really think about changing the menu & the wine list to "up the ante" a bit. Disappointing, will never go back. $120 better spent elsewhere!
Better than expected. I have to say that I was very hesitant about returning to Vinings Inn due to the previous reviews. However, I had not been there in over a year and knew how great it was before so I decided to see for myself. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised?the food was great! I went on a Friday night with a few girlfriends and had the pecan seared rainbow trout?it was delicious! Not only that, but I actually split this entree with one other person and when they brought the split entree out it was more than enough food for each of us; it was as though I ordered my own entree. They have a pretty good wine list and many wines you can buy by the bottle with a good price range. My only complaint is that it can get kind of loud in the dining area?I guess this is to be expected since it is a small, old house. I would suggest going upstairs to listen to the band after dinner?it was a pretty good crowd; not too crowded, but not dead either. If you can though you should send someone upstairs to reserve a table for you; they go pretty quickly.
