Best outdoor dining in Atlanta period! Incredibe views and food, oh and an awesome riverside bar!
Great place to take a stroll after dinner along the river and through the gardens.

Check out the onsite river bar for local brews, fine wines & cocktails on the banks of the Chattahoochee
Terrible for Common Folk. I couldn't pronounce half of the items on the one page menu. I don't know where this chef grew up, but apparently it wasn't the US. The food was terrible and looked and tasted like it belonged in an art gallery rather than on a table. The prices were a whole other subject. They were outrageous! The beautiful and romantic atmosphere would be my only reason for going back!
Top 5 in Atlanta!. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the country, but with so many good restaurants in Atlanta, I would say it is part of a non-ranked top 5. Too hard to rank them, but Canoe stands out as a place you need to go to. Great food, amazing atmosphere and the best location in the city! Probably my first pick for any special occassion event! Service was perfect...we loved our waitress because she really liked her job...can't assume that will always be the case thought, but they all seemed friendly.
lovely restaurant!. such an impressive place! i discoved canoe by this website and my boyfriend and were just stunned! they surprised us with a "happy anniversary" cheesecake since they found out it was our anniversary when i made the reservations. the service was top rate, the setting romantic, the food was amazing, and the prices were decent! what was not to like?
Why so Cold?. I have always loved this restaurant and the food has never dissapointed me. However during summer I loath going there as teh airconditioning is turned up so high I have to take along two sweaters to keep warm. I would rather sit outside and risk a warm breeze than freeze inside and not enjoy the entire meal.
Overrated.. The ostrich appetizer was good. The main courses that we had were okay, but not great. A $90 bill should have me thinking, "Wow!" Even with reservations, we still had to wait for about 20-30 minutes to be seated. I was reminded of the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry told the car rental place, "You know how to take the reservation. You just don't know how to keep the reservation." Ambience? Not nearly as romantic as it should have been. Loud and crowded. Sure the lights are dim, but that just means you're tripping over the chairs because the tables are too close together. We heard every word spoken at the two tables we were wedged between. The service was passable at best. While I've seen worse, our meals were pretty simple, but they still managed to screw them up. Overall, overrated.
wonderful. I recently went to Canoe for a nice dinner. We first sat at the bar and had a glass of champagne. The service from the bartender Lauren (guy) was right on que. He was attentive and knowlegable. They seated us shortly after we finished our drink. The hostess was snippy and to honest, a complete ditz. She forgot what table we were going to and had togo back up front and look. Service was impeccable. Sit with Bill (tall with shaved head). We didn't feel rushed at all. He was knowledgable of the food and wine. Our food arrived promptly and delicious. I loved the arugula salad. Definitely try the ostrich. Entrees were okay- only because my duck was overcooked. I would definitely go back.
Rollin' on the River.
This is one of the most picturesque places in town. I love to go there in the early evening and watch the sun filter through the trees onto the river, which is at the bottom of rolling lawns.
The straighforward food is good, not great. Sometimes I go for the bar and appetizers, which are superior.
