“Its a great convenient place to go for an affordable brow wax.”
“wouldn't go back if you paid me, and I will never recommend their service to anyone else.”
“The lady who did my nails was very rude and acted annoyed when she picked me up.”
“The products which the therapists are forced to sell to you are of a poor quality and you could probably find something just as good at Walmart for a lot less money.”
OH MY GOSH! WTF?. This spa soooo needs a renovation!!! There are weird, funcky, stinky smells when you go in..seems like there is a sewage leak or something! The ladies locker room has a steam room that never works and if it does it smells like mold BIG TIME!! Just GROSS!! So much for a spa experience! The water fountain that used to pour out water in a relaxing way in one of the hallways has been broke and never got fixed! Been to this spa many times for years but no longer, never again! I don't have complaints about therapists, but I do have complaints about the front desk! They are so unprofessional!! and if I recall there is some guy named Brent I think ? that shouldn't be working there, doesn't have the face of working for a front desk spa! Some of the people that work there seem to be lounging around while clients like me are walking in! Oh and also forgot to mention the music in the spa cuts of at random times, so I'm stuck listening to a vacuum cleaner and/ or other noises! In the end it's a mess of a spa! Don't recommend anyone to go there, even technicians seem to be bothered by all of this but of course it's not their job to fix, it should be the new owner that took over Sydell to take care of this! HORRIBLE (in one word) period!!!
Great massage, relaxing experience.. I went with my husband this last weekend, and had a wonderful experience. We went for a couples massage and had a great time. It's been a while since I've been to a Spa Sydell, so I wasn't expecting much, but we had a very enjoyable experience. Both of our therapists did a great job, didn't talk much (which I hate it when they talk too much), and really worked out the kinks in our backs. I'm already setting an appointment for our anniversary next month!
Worst experience ever- do not come to this place!. I took my girlfriend here as part of a surprise for her birthday. We are both from out of town and needed help finding the perimeter location. I spent more than 20 minutes on hold for an associate to speak to me. Meanwhile I had to "park" and wait. Eventually, someone did answer the phone but not before my "surprise" was ruined. The associate on the phone offered complimentary services for our wait but when we arrived, no one had any "recollection" of my conversation. Very disappointed in customer service and neither of us are going back! Fool me once, shame on Spa Sydell, fool me twice....
Worst Experience - Am contacting Better Business Bureau.
Terrible customer service. DO NOT USE THEM. There are so many other Spas in Atlanta!!!!
I presented a gift certificate in which the hard copy read that it was less than a year old! They claimed that it was expired "and had been altered" and would not honor it. I spoke with a Rick in Corporate. He refused to honor the gift certificate but said he would give me $45 off a Series!!! Why would I give them any more money? He then sent me to Melanie Everhart? in HR. She was rude and said "thanks for your business and sorry for loss of your future business" after I told her that we provide Spa Sydell certificates to our clients!
After I mentioned that my friend's 2006 gift certificate was honored - she said "we treat each case individually and different". Huh?
She also misquoted the Gift Card act of 2005.
Better Business bureau will be hearing about this.
not what i expected. Considering the chain they are, i thought it would be much nicer
Spa Sydell. The rooms are small and dirty. The linen is thin and threadbare usually with holes in it.Some of the rooms even have holes in the wall. If the spa has a steam room half the time it does nt work. The products which the therapists are forced to sell to you are of a poor quality and you could probably find something just as good at Walmart for a lot less money. The therapists on the whole are good at what they do but for the money you can get a lot nicer experiences at other spas and yes dare I say it even at a Massage Envey. Do n't be fooled, keep your money to spend somewhere else where you can buy quality products and quality services, and where you are treated as a VALUED customer.
Moncure! Moncure! Moncure!. I haven't had very many experiences with Spa Sydell. Most were ok but my latest made up for all their previous shortcomings. I recieved a gift certificate for my birthday and was booked with Moncure at the suggestion of the customer service rep. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was absolutely amazed! She gave me the best massage of my life! She did wonders for my neck and back. I will definitely be back.
Corporate Announcement.
Regarding In Spa:
The information surrounding the buyout of Spa Sydell is false. The company remains a privately owned, family business as it has for the previous 26 years. All gift certificates purchased under the Sydell name will be honored within one calendar year of their purchase date. Spa Sydell remains the premier day spa of Atlanta.
Regarding gift certificates:
All Spa Sydell gift certificates have a documented expiration date of one calendar year from the purchase date. After expiration, a surcharge of 20% can be paid to reactivate the certificate for the full amount.
For any remaining questions or concerns, please call 404.255.7727 or visit our website.
New Owners. Spa Sydell has been sold to IN SPA which is located in Washington state . They are a lower end spa, kind of like massage envy. Word is they will not accept gift certificates bought under the name of SPA SYDELL . Not sure what the new name of the company will be or what other changes are to come. Ladies and gentlemen use your gift certificates as soon as possible.
Read the reveiws: DON"T GO TO SPA SYDELL.
.. There are just too many options to SPAs in Atlanta to go to SPA SYDELL. Several years ago this was a pampering and wondeful experience but not so anymore. THey are upselling during your entire experience and the massages here are average. The buckhead location is nice but their new facilities(Perimeter) lack in ambience and quality of the facility. The room I got taken to was musty and tiny. They had the tiniest ledge on the wall to put the therapists lotion -- so small, she had to use the floor for some of her stuff. Crazy.
My biggest complaint though lies in their policy on gift certificates. DO NOT BUY GIFT CERTIFICATES HERE! If your gift certificate is more than a year old, they will charge you 20% to use it. And if you use a gift card, you get treated terribly. You'll notice they ask you when getting your appt if you are going to use a gift card. - they'll give you the newest therapists.
Additionally, their policy appears to be incosistent: I just saw a comment where someone lost $400 in gift cards because they were 3 years old. I would have been furious -- how awful!
There are just TOO many Spa alternatives in Atlanta to go to SPA Sydell.
