GREAT SERVICE. The service here was great. I stopped here twice while traveling. If you are around Atlanta and are looking for a down home feeling place...this is it. I had the chopped pork plate and it was great. The ladies who work here appear to have worked here for a while...ask them for menu hints. They were very friendly and fun.

Real Disappointment. At 12:00 noon on a Saturday the parking lot was packed. I was led to the back and given a booth. The bench for the next booth was pushed against my table, and it was disconcerting to be so close to the back of the next booths occupants head. The ugly photograph hung above my table had something splattered on the glass.

I ordered the pork BBQ omelet and chose hash browns and toast as my sides. The omelet was bland and dry, with stringy barbecued pork chunks embedded in a dry and flavorless mass of egg. The side of BBQ sauce in a plastic cup was tart, but otherwise uninteresting, and could not save the omelet. The hash browns were dry and flavorless half-inch cubes of tan potato. The toast was rubbery, and too cold to melt the dairy spread that came with it.

Real Barbeque. Old Hickory House has the most authentic barbeque in Atlanta, The Bruswick Stew and garlic toast is a meal by itself. Orde a sliced outside pork plate and enjoy real old southern barbeque. Vegetable and traditional sides. Service a bit slow during rush periods but never bad. I highly recommend trying the wonderful old time barbeque restaurant.
