#1 Finest Peruvian Cuisine and coming back Monday - Friday for their Lunch Specials!!!! Thanks Nati

by MaryMarie02 at Citysearch

Yes, I would have to agree with Natasha by far the BEST Latin Food! Remeber its on me next time!!

The servers were very nice and pleasant, well here they give their own personal recommendation based on their own experiences. Our waitress was Andrea she asked us if I was either interested in chicken, beef, or SEAFOOD!. And yeah, we said seafood! So I asked her if she's tried any of the dishes, and well of couse she did and told me what the favs were: Ceviche Mixto (which is a cold dish with Fish, Calamar, shrimp, and mussels marinated in lemon juice) at first I thought the fish was raw, but its cook in the lemon juice, SABROSO!!, Arroz con Mariscos(Peruvian version of a paella, yellow rice topped with calamar shrimp and mussels) WOW!, Pescado Sudado Especial (Steamed fish drenched in this tomato based broth, cooked with onions and tomatoes, and topped with calamar shrimp and mussels and a side of rice)WELL PROPORTIONED. Pescado a lo Macho (A fried fish fillet with seafood in a thicker tomato based sauce wit a side of rice)MMMM-MMMM!!! So we all ordered the favs!! We had a Peruvian Feast and thought it was Thanksgiving at sea! Andrea was well experienced and came back and offered us coffee and desserts, well this is when I unbutton for that little taste of sweetness so we ordered coffee and had Arroz con Leche(Rice pudding), Alfajor(Peruvian cookie filled in with cajeta,(dulce de leche, caramel), Flan (Baked custard), and Turron( Cookie cake with a caramel that contains a different cinna flavor and sprinkles) OMG!!!

They might just get tired of seeing me in there but they also know that I'm well-fed!!! ILOVE MACHU PICCHU come and try the delicious and fresh food from Peru!

  • Pros: Coming again for their Lunch Specials!!!..Great atmosphere, Great service, Great Food!

The BEST Peruvian restaurant in Atlanta! Great food and customer service!

by natasha312 at Citysearch

Tempting, tempting, tempting,....Machu Picchu Restuant is to be! I highly recommend this temptation...tasty, flavorful experience! This is my second enjoyable time and its by far the most recommened restaurant that i hear from the colleages i associate with, which are the Food Critics of the Nation, informing me about the best tastes in the Atlanta metro area. Has a wide variety of food fit to fulfill thier own pallet ranging whether its vegetarian, meat, chicken or seafood the Machu Picchu menu has it all!

From my previous experience I tried the Papa a la Huancaina, the rich and creamy cheese sauce was so delightful, that I just had to bring extra back home in place of my usual dipping sauce! I didnt get to try their famous ceviche for its unique Peruvian taste! So I came in today with my friends, and with a made up mind of enjoying the ceviche mixto!..and yes I had to get it spicy! My fav!!!

  • Pros: Fantastic experience, Dinner lighting, romantic scenery!

Lousy Customer Service

by Peru2002 at Citysearch

Spend your money somewhere else with great customer service (not after your money) and good foods at reasonable price unless you want shockingly rude customer service, overpriced ordinary foods, and pushy waitress (who claimed manager but possible owner) to find ways looking after herself to make you spend more (tell you to order more)! I was expecting great customer service from this Peruvian Restaurant on Mother?s Day but turned out the worst dining experience in many years. We (7 people) spent over $100 on foods that looked and tasted ordinary (average $15 per plate). Waitress (manager or owner) dying to sell you more foods by saying you should order another plate since they look good, ordered wine per her recommendation that tasted unpleasant, criticized customer for not order other drinks (higher margin) ? she said ?come on? when I ordered hot tea. We ordered a soup that was big and could serve to 4 people. My girlfriend?s sister requested 3 empty bowls so that other people could try but the waitress (manager or owner) told the waiter did not give us bowls (she want us to order more). My girlfriend asked the waitress (manager or owner) again very nicely to request 3 empty bowls and was told that ?we had no bowls? which I found hard to believe that a restaurant had no bowls to serve foods! I was upset and finally spoke up to request empty bowls or drinking cups from her one last time. She replied with the same answer and said that ?why would you want to put soup in drinking cups?. I immediately stood up and asked for checkout. She told the waiter in front of me that I got attitude while I was checking out and talked trash (why would your daughter pick this guy) behind my back to my girlfriend?s mother after I left the restaurant. This is an unbelievable experience and stay away from this restaurant that only look after their bottom line (money) and not for customers.

  • Pros: One of the fewest Peruvian Restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Cons: Rude customer service, overpriced ordinary foods, and pushy waitress
