“Fresh naan, Spicy entrees, and friendly, quick service.”
Shame on you.
We went for noon brunch on Saturday. The place was dark, smelly. Waiters wore dirty clothes. Food was cold. No one bothered to come and ask if we needed any other items.
Food is a shame to the excellent Indian cuisine served at many other restaurants. Lamb meat was a joke. There were a few pieces of bones in the gravy. The Chicken 65 was hard as a rock. Nan was probably made several weeks ago. It was so hard and rubbery, it could not be even broken up into pieces or chewed. Go to McDonald's and have a nice meal for a very reasonable price. To make matters worse they charge dinner price for a lousy buffet.
Try Zyka. They have freshly prepared excellent meals for a very reasonable price.
VERY UPSETTING !. This is place is in a good location, but when i went with 2 of my friends, i had a horrible experience at the restaurant. First of all, i entered and noone was there to host us to sit down, we waited til someone came out of the kitchen. secondly, i tried the chicken dish and it was so hard like a rubber. i wouldnt recommend anyone to try the lunch buffet and overall its wayy to expensive to dine there than compared to other Indian restaraunts in Atlanta. All of my friends decided this place isnt a place to have food, just a waste of my money, try elsewhere.
Excellent food but expensive. I usually do not like buffet meals because I do not like to stuff myself, but Cafe Bombay's lunch during the week is great. II.00 is too much. All the other Indian rest. lunch is 7-8. I think Cafe Bombay has a better lunch so 9-10 inc. tax would be fine. You should try this restaurant because it is very flavorful. They have lots of vege. dishes but also lots of meat dishes also including goat. I eat at Indian restaurants a lot as it is my favorite cuisine and Cafe Bombay is tops on my list.
Very bad service. I can understand some one would like a first turn over of customers, but it's really rude to wait around the table once people finished eating to make them leave..
Amazingly Delicious!!!. Without question or doubt, Cafe Bombay is truly a terrific Indian cuisine restaurant. My 5 friends and I enjoyed every single dish that we ordered from the menu. The food was well-prepared and delicious beginning with the best "Desi wing" for appetizers to the leftovers we all had the next day. The spices and sauces are a standout for each dish. It shows that someone in the kitchen is truly experienced in making these authentic Indian dishes; no second-hand learning here. I plan to put this restaurant on monthly dinner rotation. It was just AWESOME!!!! Try the wings!!!!!
Best Indian in town hands down. I am not a Indian food finatic, but I will say that I have eaten at my fair share of indian joints, including the hole in the wall spots on Lawrenceville Hwy. Cafe Bombay is hands down the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Does that make it authentic, probably not, but it is on my regular lunch rotation. They have a wide array of great dishes (excuse my spelling) including my personal favorites, Tika Masala, Bindi Masala, Navitaran, and the Naan is great. The Ryta is creamy and not pasty like many other places. They have a something for everyone, so don't worry if you are with picky eaters. The restaurant is family owned and it shows. A great spot to go on a Fri or Sat with friends to watch the belly dancers. Or check out he lunch buffet (a bargin!) where you can try many different dishes (a great choice for the first timers). If you are in the area of Emory, Tocco Hills, or N Druid Hills; try it out and you will not be dissapointed. I know this sounds like a commercial, but I really do like this spot!
Both beginners and Indian experts enjoy this delight off Briarcliff..
In Short
One of the city's best excuses to get introduced to Indian food, this New Deli-inspired bistro does pitch-perfect presentations of native staples and vegetarian options. Goat curry, chicken tikka masala or blazing-hot desi wings are scarfed up in the lunch buffet or for a sit-down dinner. Though they sport a sizable selection of vegetarian alternatives, do note that many aren't vegan-friendly. Unique desserts like Indian ice cream and mango cheesecake are much better than some Indian restaurant's skimpy selections. Stopping in on Friday or Saturday nights for the hypnotically hip-shaking belly dancers is a real delight with friends or that special someone. Pull up a pillow and enjoy the show.
Be careful all indian restaurants have a rting of 4 or more on 5.
The ratings appear articially inflated. It is impossible that all indian restaurants have a rating of 4 or 4.5 on 5 and when you visit them, you have the most disastrous experience. The ratings are inflated by restaurant owner and their family who post extremely positive reviews. The result is that all Indian restaurants in atlanta end up having a rating of 4 or 5.
Pl use discretion and word of mouth to visit any Indian restaurant because the ratings are false.
I hope you have a wonderful experience experimenting with indian food.
Bogus food. They don't know Paneer tikka masala nd Malai kofta.. bogus food. May be other stuff good but don't want to go again.
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!. OH MY GOSH! Seriously I don't really know how you can possibly say good things about this restaurant. I have absolutely nothing good to say about it. My friends and I wanted to try something new and the ad for this restaurant and went there but unfortunately the service was horrible. After we got seated nobody came to take our order, and the waiter that did come could not even speak good english. I am from England and I know my curries. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, naan and Palak Paneer. I am very sorry to say that the Chiken Tikka Masala was quite oily and without flavor. The naan was as if I was eating plastic and The Palak Paneer was alright, not as bad as the other dishes. I would definately not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
