The Scene
A windowless A-frame in the parking lot of a removed strip mall, the Punchline could be confused for a strip club or BBQ joint--but actually occupies a former carpet sales building. The tightly packed, wood-paneled, low-slung showroom presses yuppies and yokels together in a casual, if not particularly cushiony, 21-and-over environment.

The Draw
The Punchline has been showcasing the comedy circuit's biggest names for 20 years. In addition to local and regional talent, Jerry Seinfeld, Gilbert Gottfried, Bobcat Goldwaithe, Lewis Black and David Cross are just a few big names who have graced the stage. Catching a show is like watching the hottest HBO comedy specials in your best friend's 1982 basement den. Not every seat is the best, but speakers and video monitors cover all the odd angles. Always booking rising talent, the Punchline makes sure its shows are hilarious, no joke.

Although I admit it is a little crowded we actually had a great time! Joe Rogan was hillarious! Although, I can't see going unless there is a named comic like Rogan. There is no way I would pay the price for the tickets. The food was ok, we ordered the Chicken Wings. We only drank beer so I can't comment much on the drinks. The only problem we did have was the woman who wouldn't shut up. She was talking loud enough for everyone to hear her. My girlfriend walked over to her and asked her to keep it down but that didn't work. I finally got mad enough that I stood up and told her very politely to "Shut the F*&K up". You would think the staff would say something to people that are loud there, but they don't.

What an awful little place. I felt like I was at some run down comedy club that was on the verge of closing its doors. It doesnt matter where you seat because all areas are crowded. The right side according to the seating chart was supposed to be the non smoking side but it wasnt. Everyone came prepared to smoke there brains out. The food was horrible and I only tasted the chips and dip...the drinks were awful stick to beer and if your a girl like me just order water. Pablo Francisco was weak....he was trying out new jokes and they were horrible. Never will visit again.

The staff was friendly...but the admission was to pricey. I think we paid $27 per ticket...and all the comedians were sup-par. I would not recommend a visit unless your totally bored.
