Simply the Best Sushi around, seriously!.
It's right across the street from the Punchline Comedy Club which was the only reason I gave it a shot. My wife and I were hungry after an early show and walked over.
We were blown away. It's in a strip mall with a very simple but clean interior. The menu looked good and you could tell there were some very authentic dishes available.
We started with the tuna tartare and edamame. My wife ordered the Dragon Roll and I ordered the Sushi/Sashimi bento box. The fish was so fresh and cool to the tongue. We were both just looking at each other waiting for the other to say it first, "this is the best sushi I've ever had". My wife was so impress she went to the sushi bar to say thank you to the sushi chef who I think was the owner. I could go on and on but the words just don't do the place justice.
Bottom line, this place is the definition of a hidden gem. I will not go nowhere else for sushi from now on.
Simply awesome. We just found this place last week and were amazed. It was incredible. From the service, to quality of the food, everything was great. Taka Sushi used to be our favorite, but Sushi Mio easily tops it.
Fabulous sushi in Sandy Spring. I debated writing a review b/c I do not want too many people to know about this place. I moved to the Sandy Springs area about a year ago and it took me a little while to find this place, but now that I have I am so glad. My husband and I either eat at or take out from Sushi Mio about once a week. And everyone we have taken there has loved it and has started going on their own. The service is great. We go often enough that they know what we like and will make suggestions. The sushi is consistently excellent, and the price is very reasonable. The presentation is pretty standard, but when you do takeout they arrange it beautifully in the container. It is crowded on weeknights (but you never have to wait for a table), but fairly quiet on Saturdays, I think b/c everyone assumes they will be packed on Saturday. I can't say enough good things about Sushi Mio, but don't take my word for it, try it yourself.
Super fresh sushi and salads and great ice-cream.
I've been there several times and the food is always suberb. Extremely fresh sushi, very good house salad.
I also love the ice-cream selection: green tea, red bean and ginger.
Ambience is too plain but food is excellent.
Great sushi!.
Great sushi (fish was very fresh), staff was friendly,
not too many people, it was on Wednesday.
We'll be back!
Excellent Sushi and Service. This restaurant has a nice, diverse sushi menu as well as traditional Japanese fare. The sushi is consistently excellent. If you sit at a table, don't miss the specials of the day on the whiteboard by the sushi bar!! When we finished the first round of sushi, we asked the waitress to recommend some more for us and she referred us to the specials which were wonderful.
The best Sushi I've had. A co-worker introduced me to Sushi Mio about two years ago and we haven't let more than two weeks go by without going there since. I have never been disappointed at this place. The atmosphere is quiet and the waitresses and sushi chefs are extremely nice and humble. I eat sushi at various other places in Atlanta but nothing holds a candle to this place. It has become my "yardstick" for sushi comparison. The fish is always so fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Glad it's in my neighborhood!. I'm so glad Sushi Mio is in my neighborhood. I've been all over metro Atlanta searching high and low for quality sushi, and Sushi Mio and MF Sushi are by far the best. I've been going to Sushi Mio for years, and have never been disappointed. It's good to know that actual Japanese people are running the place, maybe that's why the service can be a little slow? They're very humble and serve their food without pretension.
I just keep going back :). A friend introduced me to Sushi Mio and I've been back many times. My last visit I just sat at the bar and ordered the Chefs Choice. It was great. You should also eat at Sushi Mio when you get a chance.
Consistently Excellent Sushi. Like most other sushi eaters, I'm a sushi addict. I've eaten sushi all over the country, and in the 5 years that I've lived in Atlanta, I've been to at least 25 different sushi restaurants alone! Without a doubt, the quality of the sushi at Sushi Mio is as good as the best I've ever had anywhere. The sushi chefs there are not interested in turning tables quickly, they are only interested in providing you with the best quality sushi they can. They are true artists in their field. Oh... I almost forgot to mention that I drive 25 minutes out of my way to go here, at least three times a month! :)
