“Aldo's has AMAZING food, its kinda pricey but the portions are big.”
You call this authentic italian??. If you want good Italian food, this place is not for you. Each course was more disappointing than the last. Even the salad left a strange taste in your mouth. We also ordered the fried artichoke stuffed with crab meat appetizer which was completely flavorless. I ordered one of the veal dishes. The pieces of veal was just about the worst veal meat I had ever eaten; it was grimy, fatty, and chewy. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish which came with a few strands of pasta underneath covered in a bland tomato sauce. They couldn't even bother to give a decent portion of pasta on the side. If you want authentic, flavorful Italian food at about the same price, there are a lot of other great places only a mile away from this restaurant.
Hidden Jewel - off the beaten path.
Family owned and operated, this restaurant offers a great alternative to the chain Italian restaurants. Never crowded, as mentioned by others, we have always gotten prompt seating even at rush hours. Food is excellent as is the very personable service which usually includes the owner chatting at your table. Setting is more formal than say a Macaroni grill. Desert is my favorite part of the meal - the Creme Brule is fantastic.
Great for families, or couples.
perfect first dinner. My mom and I went to Aldo for my first night when I moved to Atlanta because it was the only thing not crowded and that didn't look like a chain when we were driving around. We don't understand why there was no one there. The rolls were brought out hot and buttery, and even the traditional italian salad was delicious. We both ordered the chicken picatta, and it was amazing....plus there was plenty of juice to soak up with the rolls. My mother who hardly ever eats carbs, ate 4 rolls, and is making me promise we go back when she comes to visit! We were there in our sweats that we had been driving in all day and no one seemed to mind, our waiters were very attentive and the service was fast. Obviously, not a fancy place at all, but you won't be sorry once you try it-plus we don't want it to go out of business which looks possible with the amount of people in there when we were there.
great food and great people. we went out as a group and we enjoyed it !!! we all liked the food ,great food , and our server Alex(Alen) was great . very nice place and we definatly go back again
Great food!. Great! That's all that needs to be said. I've been here several times and never had a problem of any sort.
Ghost Town. The food and service here is great, but the atmosphere is definately lacking. I was fully expecting a tumbleweed to come rolling out of the kitchen at any time during my meal. Perhaps I was there on an off night, but we were the only table in the restaurant at 7pm. That's never a good sign.
