I visited the newly renovated Carter Barnes in Buckhead for the first time yesterday (3/2/13) and cannot think of one redeeming quality. The front desk is apathetic. I was a new client and no one made any effort to welcome me. In fact, they nonchalantly told a young woman walking by to take me to the stylist where I waited on a small sofa with three other women with absolutely no room. I had overall color plus highlights and a wet trim. My bill was $240. I am accustomed to spending a lot on my hair, but this is ridiculous, particularly given that the trim was more than a trim (I had asked that the length be left as is). I was also told to dry my own hair - unthinkable. It took three hours with little concern for my time, and my hair was over-processed resulting in it looking like straw. When I reviewed my bill at the check out station, I asked about several charges that were listed as "other." Once again the apathetic individuals said they didn't know what it was. I found the salon to be, by far, the most un-elegant and ungracious place I have ever been. It is so loud that I was unable to read. At these prices should the salon not offer some luxury or at least manners? Finally, the parking is valet, and it is expected that you tip those who park your car. Imagine - paying to park your car at a hair salon. I would never under any circumstances return. Avoid this salon!!

Nick White at Phipps is the best! he took his time to get my Keratin treatment done, paid attention to the smallest details, my hair feels & looks great thanks to him :)

WOW...come on people...you are slacking at your front desk job !

A gentleman working his butt off, and making it look easy !

Not sure of his name..maybe Brian...but He is working the desk all by himself "with ease and style" !

Booking the appointment and complete experience was top notch.

Tall young man named Brian, at the desk was very accommodating, and made me feel welcomed. I will recommend Carter Barnes at Phipps to all my friends.

Hair Spa. Carter Barnes is like a day at the spa for your hair. The place is elegant and comfortable, with a great staff. Jose does my hair, and I've never seen such passion for the art of styling hair. His vision is true art. Listening to him/ watching him create is very fascinating! I highly recommend his service for a great style and friendly charm.

Your search is OVER!!!. Finding a great hair stylist can be like finding a needle in a haystack. But if you're still searching, I promise that your search is over! Nick has been my hair stylist for about a year, now, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. First of all, he actually listens to what I want and shows me what he's going to do before he does anything! He's a fantastic communicator, and I feel like my vision will always come to fruition--cut, color--everything! And, if you're like me and don't always have a magazine clipping of what you're looking for, Nick asks some questions and manages to figure it out and make it spectacular!! If you're looking for natural highlights a la Jennifer Aniston, a sassy (but manageable in every-day life) hair cut like Scarlett Johansson, long layers like Kate Hudson or Jennifer Lopez, or just about anything under the sun, call Nick. He'll make you feel comfortable, like you're the only person in the room, make you laugh, and pass the time like a best friend. And trust me--like a visit with a best friend, you'll want to keep going back for more.

THE PLACE TO GO. CATER BARNS IS THE PLACE TO GO. I LOVED IT., NICK GAVE ME A . SASSY HAIR CUT AND THE COLOR WAS RIGHT ON . I HAVE BABY FINE HAIR AND IT IS HARD TO STYLE BUT HE DID IT WITH EASE. HE GAVE ME GREAT TIPS HOW TO STYLE MY HAIR SO I COULD KEEP THE LOOK. WHEN I GOT HOME. , ALL I CAN SAY IS CATER BARNS AS IT GOING ON .

Why would you go any place else?. Carter Barnes was recommended to me by a friend years ago. It only took one visit for me to realize it is the only place in Atlanta I would ever go to get my hair done. Yang cuts my hair now but I have had a number of the stylists cut my hair over the years. Perri, who is one of the co-owners, is a genius with my color and people frequently comment on how much they like my hair -- little do they know I would be pretty grey without Perri. The place is wonderful. The atmosphere is friendly. Spa services are a dream. I love this place and look forward to going every time!

Lovin Carter Barnes on Paces!!!!. I've been going to Jackie at Carter Barnes for years. I love it!!! They're always professional. My color is fabulous! Jackie really listens to what I want. Corey cuts my hair and also does an amazing job. If you want an upscale salon with very friendly and talented people, you will love Carter Barnes on Paces!!!
