“Beauty is a warm and fuzzy industry, but the sales staff in the retail area at Ulta, Buckhead are more, like, cool and rough.”
Not so warm and fuzzy. Beauty is a warm and fuzzy industry, but the sales staff in the retail area at Ulta, Buckhead are more, like, cool and rough. Going to Ulta Buckhead is like going to Home Depot. If you can actually get someone to help you, it's with an unsmiling, unfriendly, "can't you see I'm busy?" kind of answer. After coming from the Clarin counter at Bloomingdale's where the sales assoc. lavished me with attention, these ladies were a big letdown. I don't think they actually receive training in how to deal with customers. Kind of a warm body approach to staffing, it seems. And on top of everything else, the one bit of information I got from the salesperson, who couldn't wait to finish with me so she could get back to leaning on her closed register while the other assoc. took the 5 of us who were in line, was incorrect and ended up costing me $12 extra. Now I have to make an unhappy trip back to return the item. Still, you gotta love Ulta for all the beautiful products. I just wish they would at least pretend like they want you to come back!

I heard about Meredith in the Ulta salon while at the Spacific Healing spa. Prior to my massage my therapist noticed that I was from Buckhead and said "Oh, my wife is a hairstylist there, she works at Ulta!" Since my treatments there were so great I decided to give her a try.
The Salon was very nice. The receptionist kindly booked my appointment and I was in. I met Meredith at the desk, where she promptly introduced herself, took my coat, offered me bottled water and then sat me for my consultation. I didn't have to wait an hour like I am so used to with Van Michaels.(which is where I have been going for the past few months)
She took the time to talk about what I wanted to do, pulled out color swatches to determine what color Blonde I wanted for my highlights and then explained how she felt placement should go. In otherwords She actually ASKED me what I wanted!! Not only that, she was nice about suggesting how to go about placement. She did a partial highlight for me, where a partial actually means COVERING THE FRONT AND THE TOP! Unlike what I was getting at VM, where a partial ment the very top of my head and not the sides, so when I pulled my hair into a pony tail I had big brown sides! Meredith made it look the way it is SUPPOSED to look! I was very excited :)
Then she did a long layer cut for me (it was nice to just go to ONE person rather than 2). Great cut! On Par with the cuts I was getting from my stylist at VM, and HALF the price!
Meredith also did an eyebrow waxing for me. SHE"S GREAT! She is gentle and meticulous. Least painful wax I have ever had AND NOTHING I had to tweeze at home! FANTASTIC! She even trimmed my eyebrows making them look just like celebrity eyebrows!lol! I was more than happy with all of my services. and VERY excited to see that my total came up to $135 FOR EVERYTHING! If I was at Van Michaels my services would have been almost $200. I saved $60, was treated better than ever, got the best services and now I am loyal to her
